You'll compose music for animation, video games and apps, film, TV and musical theatre. Composing music for screen and stage means being able to take on multiple roles. In this program, you'll develop a broad skill set. You'll learn orchestration, recording, mixing and editing. Using the latest technology, you'll compose music for several of Sheridan's arts programs, and create a workplace-ready demo reel that showcases your ability to work in a variety of media.

Become the complete package
This program brings music and technology together. Many of our students have either a formal music background or technical experience, but not both. This graduate music certificate builds on your existing skill set, while bridging any gaps in experience you may have. You'll have classes in music composition, as well as the technical aspects of recording, mixing and sound design

This graduate certificate program prepares you for a variety of journalism or media careers. You’ll learn in-demand skills, from researching and interviewing to data mining and content production. At Sheridan, you’ll develop a broad perspective that will prepare you to work in all news and information platforms.

Get work experience through a media internship
Once you’ve completed your in-class studies, you’ll have a 4–6 week internship. You’ll work with your professors to secure a placement in a media or news organization that suits your career goals. This work placement will give you valuable industry experience that puts you a step ahead of the competition.

Work with the latest journalism tools and technology
Sheridan’s newly renovated newsroom is a fully interactive space. It merges all media platforms (radio, television, web) into one centre. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art equipment and studio space, and will use a variety of camera formats to produce news stories, documentaries and other digital content.

ATVF integrates the practical, technical and creative aspects of television and film studies while providing direct, industry-relevant experience. You'll develop your creativity while gaining the specialized skills you need to bring your ideas and vision to life on the screen. You'll also acquire an understanding of new technologies and production methods, enabling you to stay current.

Professional faculty and facilities
Our instructors and production facilities rank second to none among film schools in Canada. You'll work in professional surroundings, learn from practicing filmmakers with years of industry experience, and be immersed in the culture of the television and film industry — and, in just one academic year, you can become part of it.

In the technical areas, camera students will work in professional-style camera teams coached by industry gaffers, 1st ACs and cinematographers. Students shoot on both documentary and cinema cameras. Audio students are trained in software such as Pro Tools. Sheridan has two industry-style mixing theatres for audio mix playback. Students can screen their final films on a cinema-size screen with an industry-quality projector and a Dolby surround-sound environment.

We offer hands-on learning in one of Canada's leading Ceramics studios. You'll learn innovative approaches to clay, such as wheelthrowing, handbuilding, moldmaking, slipcasting, clay/glaze formulation and firing salt/soda, wood, pit, gas and electric kilns.
