All students in the Bachelor of Design and Arts program will choose a major area of study which could include:

• Design Media: Typography & print, animation, video, web
• Textile/Fashion Design: Fabric printing, garment construction, textile art, fashion photography

UCOL’s NZ Diploma in Arts and Design is suited to people wanting to find their creative voice by selecting one of the following areas of study;

• Glass Arts – Hot and kiln-based glass
• Visual Arts – 3D sculpture and painting
• Design Media – Graphic design, 3D, animation, and publication design
• Textiles/Fashion Design – Design, pattern drafting, and construction

The program will introduce you to a range of materials and methods, and enable you to develop your research skills to create unique solutions.

Develop your proficiency in the language of art and design as you are introduced to a wide range of skills and practices. The compulsory courses cover drawing, art/design history, and putting your skills into practice to meet a brief. These are designed to extend your chosen elective practice.
