Our Masters degree in English Literature focuses on three periods of literary history: the Renaissance, the ‘long’ nineteenth century and the 20th/21st century.Each of the three period-based modules is structured on ideas of politics and social change and will enable you to explore the interface between literature and society.

By reading a wide range of texts within their critical, cultural and historical contexts, we’ll encourage you to evaluate the ideas of others and develop your own critical perspectives and areas of specialised knowledge.You’ll develop skills and knowledge through a range of teaching and learning methods and by producing essays, presentations, annotated bibliographies and a major research project in the form of a dissertation.If you’re looking to advance your teaching career or move into academia, this postgraduate course is for you. You’ll develop your skills in information design, visual identities, packaging and promotion, cross-platform advertising and design for the web. You’ll work in our dedicated Graphic Design Mac suites and base room, bouncing ideas off other student designers and getting guidance and support from the course team, all of whom have worked in the design industry for clients including Tesco, Lotus Cars, Manchester United, Saatchi & Saatchi, The NUS, and the UK Film Council.

You’ll also work closely with a number of graphic design studios, including?Cambridge University Press, CPL,?The District, and Onespacemedia, who will set your live briefs as well as providing lectures and one-to-one feedback, ending with a final review that can often lead to work placements, internships and long-term professional relationships.

You’ll also go on field trips, enter design competitions including Penguin Random House Student Design Awards, YCN?or?D&AD? and can choose to join our annual visit to Amsterdam. There’s even the chance to study abroad for a semester, with funding on offer to help cover the costs.

With its vibrant studio culture, our Graphic Design degree will encourage you to push boundaries and challenge existing thinking by developing innovative design solutions as well as a keen understanding of professional practice. You’ll experiment with print-based design as well as digital commercial practices including site-specific, interactive, motion graphics, mobile media, app design (UX/UI), web and multimedia work.

On this course you’ll learn through practice, in our Early Childhood Resource and Research Room and through our optional placement and theoretical modules. Placements are optional and individually tailored to enable you to gain experience in a variety of different types of settings.

Whether you decide to go on placement or not, you’ll have access to additional volunteering and work experience as well as the choice to take part in further professional development training opportunities, enrichment trips, research groups and various early childhood and education events.

Throughout your studies you’ll be taught by experts in the field of early childhood, using a variety of teaching methods and interactive technology to promote learning, including group activities, class debates and discussion, lectures and seminar sessions, as well as independent learning and study expectations.

You’ll be supported by our team of practising and research-active dramatherapists. We’ll give you access to the latest and most effective dramatherapy approaches with both adults and children.

Our MA Dramatherapy is accredited by the Health & Care Professions Council, so when you graduate you’ll be eligible to register with the HCPC – a legal requirement for your future career as a practising dramatherapist in the UK.

This full-time two-year Masters degree will introduce you to a range of approaches to dramatherapy through lectures, workshops, case discussions and theoretical studies.

You’ll also undertake clinical placements in both years, under the supervision of qualified therapists.

Your studies will focus on intercultural practice, attachment/mother-infant observation and understanding how past relationships manifest in current client difficulties. You’ll learn how these can be worked with through the dramatherapeutic relationship. You will also work closely with MA Music Therapy students in lectures and performance work.
