Our International Business BSc is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), which means you will gain exemptions from some of their professional papers if you wish to undertake further study towards being a chartered management accountant after you graduate.

This dynamic biomedical sciences degree is perfect for those with a fascination of how we work and how we treat human diseases.

At Brunel, we understand that your interest in biomedical sciences at this stage may be very broad and perhaps you're not ready to specialise. For this reason, we have made our Biomedical Sciences BSc flexible. As you continue through your degree, you can pick your own options and tailor your course to fit your interests. You can even switch over to a specialist pathway in the second year so there's no need to feel pressurised to commit to a specialist area yet.

The Royal Society of Biology has awarded its accreditation to all of Brunel’s biomedical sciences undergraduate programmes. This means you can be confident that our Biomedical Sciences BSc will prepare you for the working world – and your prospective employers will know this too. You'll receive a one year’s membership as an Associate Member once you graduate, integrating you into the sector with access to key contacts and up-to-date knowledge.

In your final year you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our research programmes in cellular and biochemical pathways, the regulation of gene expression, DNA repair and immunological responses to microbial infection. How does human activity affect our planet? How can these effects be managed?

This course develops your understanding of environmental problems at a master’s level and gives you the skills to analyse and develop long-term solutions. You’ll be able to oversee environmental performance in the private, public and voluntary sector ensuring that improvements are made where possible and legislation is followed. This course seeks to raise your ability to understand and analyse environmental problems, in order to develop long-term solutions.

The Professional Development option provides you with an integrated work placement. Our Chemical Engineering MEng degree is an innovative course that has been developed to equip you with a broad range of knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the chemical and biochemical industry.

The course has been developed according to the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) accreditation guidelines. This innovative approach means modern subjects are taught and delivered through flipped classrooms, problem-based learning and virtual reality.

Our MEng chemical engineering course can be studied full-time over four years, or five years with a placement year.

Our Creative Writing MA degree is designed to equip you with a broad range of advanced creative writing skills and academic accreditation for your creative work.

Teaching is delivered by some of the most talented and original wordsmiths working today. Our Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Computer Systems) BEng degree is a modern course that has been developed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to work and research in electronic and electrical engineering with specialisation in embedded systems.  This programme will help to develop an understanding of the various engineering, scientific and economic trade-offs necessary in the design and implementation of embedded systems, provide familiarity and experience with a range of architectural techniques, design methodologies and their applications and suitability for some embedded systems such as FPGAs and help to understand the utilisation and principles of reconfigurable computing.

You’ll gain a good understanding of the different engineering areas, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the fundamental engineering subjects such as design, structures, materials, fluid mechanics, electronics and maths and gain skills in technical drawing.

By specialising in computer systems you’ll learn to design and implement computer systems based on scientific and economic trade-offs. 

Access is available to modern technical facilities including computer, electronics, and power and control laboratories where you’ll work on your experiments. The latest industry standard engineering software packages are available for you to use in dedicated computer clusters.

Brunel's BEng electronic and electrical engineering (computer systems) course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). This professional engineering institution ensures that your engineering degree meets the academic requirement to qualify as a professional engineer. This accredited BEng degree in electronic and electrical engineering can be studied full-time over three years, or four years with a placement year. The BEng degree meets the educational requirement to become an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
