On this four-year degree, you will develop a firm foundation in technical computing, before specialising in cyber security.

You’ll learn how software and systems work, developing practical skills in analysis, design and programming. Later, you’ll move on to topics such as cryptography, cyber crime, sociotechnical risks and digital forensics.

You’ll become ethical hackers, identifying flaws in computing devices and networks, and tracing attacks while auditing systems.

We emphasise practical skills. This means you will spend a considerable amount of time learning the professional practice of key broadcast journalism skills including research, newsgathering, interviewing, presenting, self-shooting/recording and editing.

You will also learn core skills in media law, journalism ethics and data journalism.

Who is this course for?

Our course is suitable if you have a degree and are seeking to become a well-rounded broadcast journalist. You should have a keen existing interest in television, radio, social and digital news, and current affairs. You will also have a knowledge of sport, lifestyle and politics.

This degree prepares you to support women through diverse experiences of pregnancy and childbirth. You’ll learn about more straightforward births, as well as complicated and emergency situations many women experience.

Alongside practical midwifery skills, you’ll develop your critical thinking and abilities to assess other factors affecting pregnant women and new mothers, such as their psychological wellbeing, social environment and culture.
