Risk management is relevant to all aspects of industry, commerce, consultancy and the public sector. Over the past couple of years there has been a strong realisation that risk needs to be managed and not avoided, which in turn has a major impact on organisational strategy. To this end, this course has been designed for those wanting to have a career in Risk Management as well as professionals from a variety of sectors who are interested in strengthening their careers in risk management. This includes but is not limited to: accountants, project managers, insurers, chartered surveyors, health care professionals, lawyers, bankers, auditors, health and safety professionals and engineers and recognises the interdisciplinary nature of the subject.

Our Product Design course helps you to take your imaginative ideas and make them real. To do that you need both the creativity and the technical skills to bring your ideas to life.

On this course you’ll study the fundamentals of maths and science, electrical, electronic and mechanical principles, and simulation and fluid dynamics, as well as the functional and market-led requirements of product design.

You’ll look at specific areas including technology integration, computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D design, sustainability and design for manufacture, and be taught by academics with current industry connections.

Study an exciting range of English literature from writers across the globe and from different eras or movements, such as Victorian literature and Romanticism, as well as classic and renowned authors including William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. Learn how texts work, and debate literature’s role in society both now and throughout the course of history. Alongside your English Literature curriculum, you can choose to study French, Mandarin or Spanish from either beginner level or post-beginner level. Interior Design challenges us to reimagine existing interiors as well as challenge the idea of ‘space’ to create innovative and experiential spaces. It focuses on the way people interact within these environments, considering comfort, usability, effectiveness, aesthetics and emotional connection.

On this course you’ll explore the regeneration and adaptation of real buildings and sites and learn how to turn old commercial premises into exciting new spaces for exhibition, retail, leisure, eating and socialising purposes. You’ll develop visual communication skills in drawing, 3D modelling, computing, video-modelscope, computer-aided design (CAD) and virtual reality. Your work will respond to future global challenges and reflect the importance of sustainability and inclusivity in contemporary interior design.

You’ll also learn about the importance of design cultures and heritage, and culture and context. This solid foundation will enable you to develop your own personal style and design identity and, as you grow in confidence, you’ll become increasingly autonomous as you pursue individual design projects.

The English Language Teaching MA programme bridges theoretical knowledge of language teaching and learning, with practical classroom experience. You will graduate with both the practical skills and advanced theoretical understanding to succeed as an English Language teacher at all levels, from primary and secondary schools to universities and English Language schools, both in the UK and overseas.

Throughout the course you will hone your theoretical and analytical abilities, examining research into language teaching and learning and its implications for educators.
