With a focus on sustainability and innovation, this course covers a range of specialist areas and will prepare you for the changing demands within this dynamic sector. Specialise in lingerie, athleisure, swimwear, loungewear, nightwear, corsetry, menswear, sportswear or medical applications. You will develop specialist skills in conceptual design and application, pattern cutting, grading, fit methodologies, technical excellence and manufacturing. In your final year, you will choose to specialise in either an aesthetic or a technical route.

Your base will be the award-winning Vijay Patel Building, home to all of our art and design students, which provides both the space and facilities to foster creative thinking.

Economics is key to understanding some of the critical questions facing our world. This course will explore these questions while also examining some of the principles and theories that can help us to answer them. The programme will also put data-driven analysis at the heart of its approach, as emphasised by Contemporary Economics.

In this course you will learn to evaluate a variety of advanced quantitative and econometric techniques, and be able to effectively solve economic problems using data application tools. This includes applying knowledge to a range of specialised areas within economics using econometric techniques.

You will have an opportunity to build real skills for future employability. This includes state of the art knowledge in digital software and applications, as well as core skills in writing, presenting and teamwork.

You will study a range of areas, including Applied Microeconomics, Data Management and Visualisation and Digital Economics and Artificial Intelligence which are all taught by leading experts in their fields.

Forensic science – familiar to most of us thanks to its appearances in popular TV police dramas – is the application of science to law. It’s carried out through the collection, preservation and analysis of evidence.

If you have an enquiring mind, are good at solving scientific problems and want to work with cutting-edge equipment and facilities, then you could be the right person to work at a crime scene or analyse the evidence recovered from that scene.

On this course, you’ll study forensic chemistry, biology, imaging and photography, the essentials of forensic investigations, and professional and quantitative scientific skills.

Then you’ll take modules on bodies, tissues and fluids, materials ID, drugs of abuse, analytical forensic chemistry, forensic IT and issues in criminal justice.

The third year will cover forensic case studies and the presentation of evidence, then fire, arson and explosions, authenticity and fraud, DNA profiling, forensic chemical pathology, and project and professional skills.

You will be introduced to the academic, professional, industrial and commercial challenges of design practice. The first year provides grounding in fashion and design through practical, creative and technical classes and projects, while the second year is more focused, with emphasis on experimentation, in-depth project research and 3D development.
