Our Public Relations and Corporate Communications MA is a highly specialised and focussed programme designed for those who want to pursue a career in the broader field of corporate communications and public relations. Over the course of the programme, you will learn to:

This degree will prepare you for a career working with children, young people and their families in a variety of settings across health, social care, education and youth justice.

You will have two work placements with our partner organisations, giving you the opportunity to put theory into practice. Placements will be in settings such as youth justice, early intervention, health services, schools and children's centres. We also give you the option to find your own placement with children and young people in a field you feel personally passionately about.

You'll develop a knowledge of social pedagogy practice, an inclusive and holistic approach to wellbeing, learning and growth. This degree is approved by the Social Pedagogy Professional Association (SPPA).

You will learn about children's law and rights and the importance of safeguarding children and young people. You'll also study child development, relationships, ethics and diversity and relationship-based professional practice.

Social pedagogy is an approach to caring for children and young people which combines education and care, emphasising that bringing up children is the shared responsibility of families and society. A key principle is that the young person is in charge of their own life, and you work alongside them.

Train to become a social worker with this degree, accredited by Social Work England. This course offers hands-on experience of social work and a foundation in ethics, diversity, psychology, sociology, social policy and law. You'll study mental health, disability, adoption, fostering, substance misuse, youth justice, and domestic violence.

You'll learn directly from people with lived experience and teaching consultants currently in practice. We're part of a teaching partnership network with seven local authorities and two voluntary organisations. This means that you will be taught in the classroom by practising social workers who will bring theory to life with their front-line experiences.

We have a wide range of placement opportunities throughout South West London and Surrey, including child care, youth justice, mental health, vulnerable adults settings, schools, drugs and substance misuse services.

You'll be expertly prepared for social work practice with placements in field, residential, day care, hospital, prison and service user-run settings. Placements will be supported by studies of assessment, intervention, evaluation, safeguarding, evidence-based practice, research and law. Employment skills workshops are provided by the partnership to maximise your chances of securing employment within the partnership at graduation.

This course is for is for students that want to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities. The course has a strong practical focus and will give you the knowledge, skills and approaches you need to become a registered nurse (learning disability) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The course is taught in partnership with St George's, University of London, so you'll get combined expertise, facilities and interprofessional learning. You'll gain hands-on experience in our award-winning simulation suite and develop your skills and confidence in working with people with a learning disability by learning with the famous Baked Bean Theatre Company and other service users.

You'll also have the opportunity to be a part of the wider Learning Disability Nursing UK and Eire network and can attend the Positive Choices Conference.

This course is designed for a small cohort of students, where you'll benefit from individual learning and support. You will be taught by our dynamic teaching team which includes leading researchers and experts in learning disability nursing from practice and the Department of Health. Our students are highly sought after and receive multiple job offers before their course is complete.

The Masters of Social Work is a postgraduate intensive qualification that will enable you to become a social worker in two years.

The MSW is accredited by Social Work England (SWE), the professional UK regulator. On successful completion of the programme, you will be eligible to register as a social worker.
