Tutored by industry specialists, you will develop your understanding of core business topics such as corporate strategy and the improvement of business processes, and you will become a skilled and knowledgeable procurement expert. Using established management tools and techniques, you will then be able to apply your knowledge of supply chain management and logistics to complex regional, national and international issues in a variety of settings.

• Focus on three main areas: programming and software engineering; art, concept and asset production; and game design studies, practice and theory

We are also members of industry network, Game Republic, where past students have won awards from industry judges in the Student Showcase Competition.

Final year students also have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of leading employers at the end of year degree show. You can see some of their work in the Leeds School of Arts Festival. Previous years have seen many of our students gain job offers through the showcase opportunities.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Explore a wide range of theories within psychology, mental health, counselling, child development and psychotherapy
• Combine theoretical knowledge with opportunities to work in mental health environments and develop your ability to build effective therapeutic relationships
• Study a variety of therapeutic approaches  
• Explore psychotherapeutic models including cognitive and behavioural development and look at theories on how mental health issues develop across the lifespan
• Learn how to develop your interpersonal skills in order to build counselling relationships between you and your clients 

This course is suitable for those working in mental health services wanting to further their knowledge and career, or for those wishing to enter the health and care professions. You’ll study a variety of therapeutic approaches and will be able to tailor the course to your career ambitions. On completion, you’ll be able to build positive therapeutic relationships that can foster positive change for your clients, for example with people experiencing anxiety, depression and addiction.

You’ll practise your counselling and interpersonal skills using our interview and feedback rooms. Engaging with work-based learning opportunities will allow you to reflect upon how you use your practical skills in the real world. These activities will help you become a confident, globally minded and emotionally mature individual, enhancing your career prospects.

Dietitians strive to provide the best possible nutritional care for clients with acute and chronic health conditions.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Learn to interpret and communicate the science of nutrition
• Understand how to use dietary manipulation and food to treat disease and optimise health
• Gain practical experience in our modern health science, clinical skills and catering laboratories

The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) regulates dietetics. The title of Dietitian is protected by law. This means that anyone who uses a designated title must be on the HCPC Register. Successful completion of the BSc (Hons) Dietetics course will give you the eligibility to apply for registration with the HCPC after you graduate.

Project management is an important facet of organisations across all sectors and industries. Accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM), this course will teach you how to work effectively with others and cultivate the range of technical skills required to be able to deliver projects effectively.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Manage the people, time and financial resources that are required to deliver successful projects

Designed in consultation with statutory, charitable and voluntary crime-related agencies in the region, this course will allow you to explore current issues in criminology and criminal justice and reflect upon the related themes of race, ethnicity, gender, state power, and war.

As part of your course, you'll:

• Study theoretical approaches in criminology and their methods of criminological research
• Develop an advanced understanding of the dimensions of social divisions and social diversity
• Understand local, national, and international contexts of crime, victimisation and punishment, and responses to crime and deviance
• Apply your knowledge in a dissertation aligned to your personal interests or career ambitions

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Design and detail buildings to bring ideas to life
• Enhance your understanding of working in the field through site visits and live projects
• Work on a wide range of design projects, from small domestic to large-scale commercial buildings
