MA English Studies allows you to build your own bespoke masters experience, selecting from a range of units to reflect your interests in the further study of English. Or you could choose to follow one of three bracketed specialisms: MA English Studies (Contemporary Literature, Film and Theory), MA English Studies (The Gothic) or MA English Studies (Postcolonial Studies).

Public Health is a growing concern with issues such as obesity and other complex conditions requiring a need for education and specialist training across the health sector.

The MPH Global Public Health offers a foundation in public health training and exposure to global health analysis, policies, systems and practices.

We’ve designed this course for health professionals looking to develop a career in public health and epidemiology.

You’ll focus on global public health issues guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015:

Designed for people with an interest in working in children’s services and education facilities, this course will encourage you to explore how to promote positive mental health for young people across a variety of settings.

You’ll develop your practical psychological skills in assessment, formulation and intervention planning, as well as your awareness of yourself as a practitioner.

Some of the topics you’ll study include psychological theories (such as Bowlby’s attachment theory) and how developmental, societal and environmental challenges influence all aspects of young people’s lives. You’ll also learn how to identify and nurture protective factors.

You’ll have a series of guest lectures throughout this course, especially throughout specialist units, to help you understand how the theory you learn in the classroom applies to the practice setting.

Guest lectures include experienced clinical and educational psychologists who contribute to a number of training programs, as well as specialist speakers with a focus on trauma, creative therapeutic approaches and the development of novel trauma-informed services to help you explore career options.

For this course, you’ll usually complete a service-based dissertation that informs service development or specific interventions for children, young people or families.

Our sport and exercise science degree covers a broad spectrum of themes across sport and health. Explore a fascinating area of biology: a microscopic world inhabited by single-celled organisms which drives all other facets of the natural world. While rooted in the fundamental theories of biological science, our BSc (Hons) Microbiology and Molecular Biology degree is also designed with practical applications in mind. As you progress, you’ll find a real emphasis on the environmental, industrial, clinical and research applications of microbiology and molecular biology and study current techniques, such as next-generation DNA sequencing technology and biotechnology.
