Our information systems degree gives you the skills, experience and expertise you need to succeed in the computer-based sector – and beyond.

You’ll get to grips with the specialist equipment, systems and technologies that will give you the experience, expertise and confidence to apply your skills (due to Covid-19, access to the specialist software may be online rather than in on-campus labs). Our degree will prepare you for career paths that range from organisational management and systems architects to chief information officers and enterprise architects.

This is an interdisciplinary course meaning the content's structured in ways that map explicitly to modern technology, including systems design, application development, client-side programming, and much more

Build your information systems skills
You’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long, paid work experience placement as part of a four-year study path (subject to securing an organisation that is able to support such a placement during the COVID-19 pandemic). We’ll also give you industry professionals and work experience opportunities to help you further develop your professional skills and network. In the past, our students have taken part in Sky's hackathon which tested their knowledge and team-working skills.

We’re in the process of gaining BCS (British Computer Society) accreditation for our computer science degrees, which means you’ll be able to gain BCS membership once it’s awarded.

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

BA Marketing

Effective marketing is essential to every successful organisation – and our BA Marketing is the ultimate stepping-stone to an exciting career across a range of disciplines. You’ll follow in the footsteps of graduates who have pursued careers in all areas of marketing, including marketing research, product development, brand management, integrated marketing communications, and retailing at companies including Bardingtons, Prem International School, IKEA, a number of local authorities, and the NHS.

Our fine art course welcomes the subject as an open discipline. That’s why your time studying with us will be a varied combination of studio practices, theory, critical involvement with culture, society, and artistic practices. We ensure that in addition to developing your critical and creative skills, you graduate with a host of transferable skills that are highly sought after by employers.

Our facilities and the expertise of our staff give you the freedom to explore different types of arts, following your interests and shaping the path of your degree. After the first year, you’ll be able to attend specialist seminars leading to one of our distinct pathways: BA Fine Art, BA Fine Art Social Practice, BA Fine Art Multimedia Practice, BA Fine Art Critical Practice. This will give you the opportunity to specialise in a subject area that interests you most.

Throughout your time with us you’ll be taught by practising artists who’re involved in research and exhibit and sell their work globally, working across a diverse range of media like painting, film, photography, and more. Our north London campus location also puts you in the ideal spot to explore all the cultural happenings the city has to offer including the iconic Tate Modern and The National Gallery.

You’ll also get to develop your individual practice, gaining hands-on experience of skills and processes inherent in the producing, exhibiting and critical contextualisation of your work.

Alongside developing your vision and skills as an artist, you will also develop a wide range of transferable skills including initiative, self-motivation, resourcefulness, excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to work both alone and in groups, and the ability to be reflective and constructively self-critical about projects you have initiated.

The course is specifically created to help draw out your passions and interests across the field of dance within the arts and creative industries. This may be dance science, dance education, choreography, dance writing, and so many more. You'll gain an in-depth knowledge of dance practice alongside transferable skills that will allow you to pursue diverse career avenues in the creative fields. It’s a highly individual course with the freedom to tailor the final year’s contents to your interests, strengths, and passions.

The course offers two distinct exit awards in Choreography and Dance Science.

Put your knowledge into practice
Our course promotes your comprehensive knowledge of dance practices and the contemporary, historical and diverse cultural contexts in which it is practiced and produced. We strongly believe in applying everything you learn into practice and that’s why you will receive practical training, taught by highly experienced artists.

You'll develop your professional skills through examining, reflecting and engaging in industry-focused projects as well as exposure to related creative disciplines. We provide performance opportunities in our state of the art facilities, which include four fully equipped dance studios, plus a specialist dance theatre, and through our strong artistic relationships with external professional venues. The campus is located close to central London, so you’ll be near the most exciting cultural events in the country.

There are a wide range of opportunities for you once you graduate across the creative industries. Previously, graduates have worked with some of the best dance companies in the UK and further abroad, while others go on to work in choreography, arts administration jobs in world renowned organisations, teaching in the private and public sectors, and further study.

Fashion degree course will prepare for you a fast-paced, challenging career in fashion and related industries. Ours is one of the most exciting fashion courses in London, with a comprehensive study of fashion’s past and future developments. We are one of the only courses where you will take part in the Degree Show, showcasing your work and increasing your professional network. Understand practical fashion communication and develop your styling skills
We strongly believe the best way to prepare you for a career in this exciting field is with hands-on experience throughout the course. That’s why you’ll get the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge, like responding to live briefs set by industry experts, not just your lecturers.

During your fashion communication degree you'll take part in a work placement or equivalent activity, allowing you to spend time in a live work environment in your chosen area of the fashion industry. Past students have worked with Hero magazine, Man About Town, Law and Wonderland, and they have also worked closely with editor Alex James Taylor.

You will learn how to engage with and utilise modern communication technologies and facilities available through the University. Inductions, workshops and support facilities including digital software and a full range of studio and photographic equipment are available.

Learning about computer-based systems can open a lot of different career doors. Our information technology course combines theoretical knowledge with practical experiments to prepare you for the world of work. You’ll have access to a wide range of advanced equipment and software. Our interworking labs come equipped with telecommunication equipment, high-end simulation software, and much more. We even have remote access for the features you will need.

A degree in information technology is a great step to a career in the IT field. How you’ll apply your new skills

• You’ll learn to apply your theoretical knowledge with practical experiments in our modern labs or using remote access, component kits and a wide range of software. Teaching is made up of different styles like lab and group work alongside individual projects, which include designing websites and IT systems.

Digital media course has been especially designed to meet the skills and demands of the fast-moving creative industries. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.

You'll be taught by experienced technical tutors who know the industry inside out. They will guide through a series of modules like the compulsory Digital Media Practice module, which focuses on production methods: video, sound recording and mixing, advanced post-production, and many more. At the end of the module you'll produce a creative and adaptive piece of work that puts theory to practice.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Music

The course has been designed so you can align your studies with your passion in music and graduate with a degree that represents your interests and skills. Join our friendly and supportive international community based at our North London campus. Collaborate with students from other creative courses, including Dance, Theatre, Animation, TV Production, Art, Fashion and Games Design and make the most of our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including an industry standard recording and mixing studio, concert grand pianos, sound insulated practice rooms, computer suites and access to a wide range of software, such as Ableton, ProTools, Logic, Max MSP, Melodyne; hybrid analogue/digital recording studio and modular synths.

This course is ideal for those who are interested in how businesses are operated and managed, but who also want to develop their own marketing expertise.

Through workshops, role-plays, problem solving exercises and analysing case studies, you'll learn to communicate your ideas and help to sell your products and services to customers. You’ll also study the key business functions that organisations require for success.

In terms of your career after your graduate, a BA in Business Management with a focus on marketing opens up a broad career path. The skills you'll develop are needed across almost every business and governmental sector, as well as third party organisations.
