Interior design courses are rapidly growing in demand. Interior design is a vital part of our everyday environment, from office lobbies and restaurants to hotels and government buildings. Our course aims to equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you’ll need to start your career in interior design. In addition to the three-year full-time course, you can also choose a four-year sandwich option. This pathway incorporates a one-year professional placement recognised by a dedicated Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice: Interior Architecture & Design, which you’ll receive at graduation.

Develop your interior design skills with us

• Our course is based on integrated design projects to get you thinking and working like an interior designer. You’ll be challenged to apply and demonstrate various elements of your learning. Tasks have been designed to help you develop your creativity and originality while interacting with different ideas, just like you would at work. You'll use virtual reality technology to present your ideas, becoming proficient in its use.
• An interior design degree can open a lot of career doors. Past graduates have gone on to work in interior design practices, specialist studios and consultancies, advisory agencies, and commercial organisations. Some of the graduate career destinations include prestigious companies like Patterson Fenton-Jones, Fox Linton Associates Ltd, and Dalziel and Pow, to name just a few.

Telecommunications engineering is a combination of electrical engineering and computer science. It covers the design, installation and maintenance of networks and equipment, allowing for the interconnectivity of devices and people. It's one of the world's most rapidly developing industries and this course has been designed to meet the growing demand for skilled graduates.

This course provides a thorough understanding of modern and future communication systems and offers the opportunity to develop relevant practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to be at the forefront of the rapidly evolving telecommunications sector where the demand for skilled graduates is very high.

Our strong links with industry have allowed us to develop a practically focused course, which is essential to the needs of the rapidly changing telecommunications industry. We work with companies such as Microsoft and Siemens, and we are a Cisco local academy – meaning you will have access to the latest equipment, and can make use of specialist teaching materials and workshops. The department is very active in cutting-edge research and you will be encouraged to learn, explore and work within our award-winning technology centre and telecoms laboratories. The labs are equipped with specialist hardware from National Instruments (NI), including the industry standard NI- USRP reconfigurable radio platform, and software such as MATLAB & Simulink, Cisco Packet Tracer, Riverbed Modeller, and EDX Signal Pro. Access to campus-based facilities will depend on Covid-19 related restrictions in place at the time. In some instances remote access to campus facilities or equivalent online facilities may be used instead.

If you're not already in work, you'll have the option of doing a placement for up to 12 weeks, during which you'll work on your independent final project. We are very closely linked to our alumni students who have been employed in the UK and abroad with companies like BT, Amelco Ltd, Alcatel-Lucent, ZS Associates, Symphony Teleca, and F5 Networks. Placements will be dependent on employer availability taking into account any Covid-19 related restrictions.

BA Interior Architecture

Interior architecture is distinct from the better known field of interior design, though the two are linked. Interior architecture degrees typically focus on the adaptation and remodelling of existing buildings, bringing together the practices of interior design and architecture in one. This course incorporates a diverse range of buildings across the public, private, and commercial spheres.

Effective marketing is essential to every successful organisation – and our BA Marketing is the ultimate stepping-stone to an exciting career across a range of disciplines. You’ll follow in the footsteps of graduates who have pursued careers in all areas of marketing, including marketing research, product development, brand management, integrated marketing communications, and retailing at companies including Bardingtons, Prem International School, IKEA, a number of local authorities, and the NHS.

In this course ,you’ll learn what it’s like to compete in the global marketplace and organisations that require employees to have both a broad understanding of how businesses operate and specialist knowledge of supply chain processes.

This course provides you the opportunity to work in a range of businesses and organisations while gaining specialised training in the industry standard software you’ll need to manage and analyse the supply chain.

You’ll receive training in industry-standard software for managing the supply chain processes. Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP) enables organisations to make decisions and run their business. If you want to learn how businesses work and how to manage people, then this is the degree for you. You’ll learn about the theory and practice of how businesses operate and what their environments are like. You’ll also study a variety of management styles, alongside the law and practices related to managing people.

You’ll be supported by a team of tutors who have industry experience. You will be exposed to key HR practices such as hiring practices, HR law, the ethics of employment and other abilities you'll need during your career.

You’ll undertake a work placement so you can apply your skills to a live work setting. Using our industry connections, we'll help you find a role in the HR team of a top company, in an industry relevant to your interests. You can do this over the course of a year or over two summers. Past students have done placements with the NHS, The Walt Disney Company, and Hays Recruitment.

We’ve got psychology specialist laboratories and counselling practice rooms that, when available to access, will let you develop the practical skills needed to succeed in the field. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

Between the second and third years of study, you'll be encouraged to undertake an expenses-based year-long work placement. This will give you the chance to apply your knowledge, develop practical skills, and boost the chances of employment after you graduate. A range of established organisations are involved with our placement course, including Great Ormond Hospital School, St Georges Hospital, Priory Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, Institute of Education, University College London, Holloway Prison, and the Metropolitan Police. The availability of placements is subject to the co-operating organisation, and we are working closely with our partners to make as many as possible available even during the pandemic. Teaching covers a breadth of subjects, from advanced signal processing to biomedical ethics and law — providing a solid grounding in research methodologies, experimental design and statistics.

A central objective of the course is to enable students to critically evaluate the legal requirements for human experiments and ethical issues relating to research with human subjects and human tissue. You will acquire in-depth knowledge of the technologies used in diagnostics and research, solving complex problems related to disease investigation. This course is designed for healthcare practitioners, including physicians, nurses and physiologists, already working in the field of cardiology, particularly cardiac rhythm management and electrophysiology.
