Delivering project management skills

During your course you’ll study project management using software applications. You’ll gain the knowledge and capability to use these tools in a dynamic environment. You’ll learn to use Microsoft Project, SAP, and a host of other software that helps you to manage and control projects.

You’ll also learn about the key functions of a successful business – strategy development, management styles, business resourcing and more.

You’ll take part in group projects, talking to project managers who work on live projects so you can understand more about the role in business. You’ll also have guest speakers and coursework based on ongoing projects in a range of industries.

Biology encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biology, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. This versatile master's degree combines cognitive and clinical approaches to neuroscience. It seeks to apply neuroscientific techniques to further your understanding of the human mind and explores the underlying mechanisms associated with disease and disorders of the nervous system. You'll be equipped with an understanding of contemporary issues in cognitive and clinical neuroscience and developing your skills and ability to use neuroscientific methods in a research and clinical environment.

• A uniquely interdisciplinary course, you'll be taught by internationally recognised academics from both the Psychology department and in Biomedical Sciences. You'll have access to state-of-the-art neuroscience equipment, such as electroencephalography (EEG) and non-invasive brain stimulation as well as lab facilities to get hands-on experience in neuroimaging and non-invasive neuro-stimulation techniques.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Music

Our flexible course lets you tailor your studies to gain the skills, project experience and professional networks you need to achieve your engineering career ambitions in the field of robotics – and beyond. With the option to study our robotics course over a three-year (BEng) or four-year (MEng) period, you’ll gain the technical knowledge and project experience that will give you a competitive edge as a robotics engineer.

You’ll explore all aspects of engineering to get a broad understanding of robotics, design, electronics, mechatronics and networking solutions. Using the latest hardware and software, including LabVIEW, SolidWorks and STEP-7, you’ll also learn to develop systems that control physical motion – such as the ones you’ll find in robotic applications and industrial automation.

You’ll have the flexibility to tailor your studies to complement your personal interests and career ambitions. From year two, you’ll have the option to carry on with your BEng Robotics or transfer to a design engineering or mechatronics programme.

Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. This means that during your time studying you’ll gain an understanding of the criminal justice system and the different career paths you might want to pursue after graduation. This could be joining the police or opting to work for support services and charities that focus on policy and reform.

During your studies, you’ll explore the problem of crime, its causes and consequences and to examine in-depth the workings and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. BA Business Management (Spanish)

This course will introduce you to the world of business, teaching you about business practices, corporate culture, management, and marketing in Spanish. You’ll also take on Spanish for Business modules so you can get to grip on the language. With a focus on management principles, you’ll study Spanish language and writing in-depth, equipping you with the understanding of business concepts in the language.

Euromonitor report that the UK sports nutrition industry grew by 16 per cent in 2013 and annual growth of nine per cent is forecast until 2018, with product sales alone expected to reach £471 million.

Our masters degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition was written in consultation with industry-leading experts and employers including the English Institute of Sport (EIS) to maximise the value of the degree to potential employers in elite and professional sport.

Students of the course meet the eligibility criteria for graduate registration with the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) - the leading professional body for performance nutritionists both in the UK and globally.

The course focuses on professional practice and is underpinned by solid scientific and technical foundations. Work placements and practical training are integrated into the course, equipping you with significant experience in a professional setting.

You will learn from some of the UK's most experienced sports nutritionists and study in our industry-standard facilities at Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where we regularly treat elite athletes and sports teams. This means that the course runs alongside our other postgraduate sport degrees and students can work together to develop their skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists.

The MSc Banking and Finance is an academically solid programme that provides the foundations of a career in financial services, and in the banking industry. Not all nutrition courses take a holistic approach to the subject. Our BSc Nutrition programme is interdisciplinary in its approach, exploring the link between diet, health, disease and performance. As nutritionists play a key role in creating and translating research into nutritional advice and policies, you’ll learn all about how the human body uses nutrients and the effects this has on health.

Beyond theoretical knowledge, our course will advance your employability by developing skills like communication, numeracy, research, team working, creative thinking, and more. Your new skills will be relevant in a variety of careers, especially dietician, nutritional therapist, and science writer. If you’d like to focus on nutrition directly after graduation you’ll have the chance to work as a nutritional advisor, food scientist, heath trainer, or sports nutritionist.

• Our course offers you the unique opportunity to undertake a 12-month placement in your third year before returning for a final year of study subject to availability in light of the Covid 19 pandemic.
