Our BA Sociology with Psychology lets you study two social sciences that naturally complement each other. You'll get a well-rounded understanding of the major concepts and themes in both contemporary sociology and psychology – and how they relate to everyday life.

You’ll have the option to extend your course by a year to spend your third year building the skills employers want as part of a paid work placement at a community organisation or NGO. Our academic advisers will also help you find your placement and give you the support you need to complete a winning application.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Music

The course has been designed so you can align your studies with your passion in music and graduate with a degree that represents your interests and skills. Join our friendly and supportive international community based at our North London campus. Collaborate with students from other creative courses, including Dance, Theatre, Animation, TV Production, Art, Fashion and Games Design and make the most of our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including an industry standard recording and mixing studio, concert grand pianos, sound insulated practice rooms, computer suites and access to a wide range of software, such as Ableton, ProTools, Logic, Max MSP, Melodyne; hybrid analogue/digital recording studio and modular synths.

Not everyone wants to go into an established business and simply fit into the organisation. Some people want to enter a company to shake things up and innovate their product, their brand or how they operate. Other people don’t see themselves working for anyone, have an idea they want to pursue and start their own business.

On our course you can shape your studies to your career ambitions, developing yourself and your skills to innovate products and services in the modern workforce.

During the course, there's an emphasis on applying practice to theory in a business environment. This gives you the opportunity to see how businesses develop their products, manage their operations and innovate in their markets. To this end, a large part of the course is taking part in a work placement so you can apply what you know in a live environment.You will develop essential skills and knowledge in business management and will study modules designed to expand your knowledge of the behaviour of people in organisations, the financial aspects of business, and the wider business environment.

At the end of Year 2 you can take a year-long placement option before returning to complete your degree. In your final year, you will advance your skills and knowledge in business management and can also choose to study a business start-up, managing business projects, or a research project.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto our three-year media degree courses listed below. The number of students who progress to degree study are very high - in fact some of these students have gone on to become some of our most successful graduates.

BA Digital Media and Communications

Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.

Our strength and conditioning course is the ideal route into the booming sports industry. We'll equip you with the specialist skillset, self-discipline, experience and valuable industry contacts to help you find success. You’ll follow in the footsteps of graduates who have won Olympic medals and are now making an impact for organisations including Nike and Brentford FC.

Guided by tutors who are active sports professionals, you’ll gain an expert understanding of sport and exercise theory. Here, you’ll learn what it takes to push athletes to their peak potential and develop strength and conditioning programmes for sportspeople who are at the top of their profession.

Develop your conditioning skills

• Using our modern facilities, you’ll get to grips with everything from performance analysis and rehabilitation to strength and conditioning and physical development.
• You’ll spend 50 hours each year gaining hands-on experience and developing your professional experience through work experience placements in the industry.
• Our partnerships with professional sports teams such as Tottenham Hotspur and Saracens Rugby Club means you’ll be able to build valuable professional contacts while you study.
• Due to Covid-19 we are following guidance from BASRaT and Public Health England regarding SSR’s contact with their colleagues during the teaching of practical based skills, this includes full PPE to ensure the safety of all staff and students.
• In eventualities where we are unable to be face to face in the laboratory or classroom or other practical clinical settings, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.
• The availability of placements is subject to the co-operating organisation, and we are working closely with our partners to ensure that as many as possible are available although this may be affected by the pandemic.  In the event that placement hours cannot be completed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will encourage students to complete relevant online CPD courses to enhance their learning which can be used towards their portfolio instead.

Develop your practical dance performance skills

A dance degree will equip you with everything you need to start a career in this creative field, from joining a dance company to working for an arts organisation. Your day will be made up of a variety of learning including theoretical and creative practices, and daily practical classes with live accompaniment where you’ll specialise in different dance techniques.

We have four fully-equipped dance studios. Additionally, our flagship Grove Dance Theatre has a seating capacity of 144, a dedicated dressing room, a specialist lighting rig, and many more extras to facilitate an authentic stage environment.

We have a long-standing partnership with the artsdepot, an award winning cultural hub in North London, where you'll have an opportunity to perform. You’ll also attend industry professional workshops and the student-led dance society will facilitate your interests and pursuits of different dance styles. Graduates have gone on to perform with the likes of Eddie Peake, Ross McKim, and Flawless among others.

You’ll also get support from our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have experience in your subject area. We also have close links with the sport and rehabilitation clinic, so you receive support for safe dance training.

Our course gives you the tools, insight and hands-on experience to succeed in the diverse and dynamic field of international politics.

International politics has never been so relevant to our daily lives, which means that our BA in International Politics and Law will open up opportunities in all areas of this diverse and dynamic field, from public service, and international relations to regional organisations, NGOs, diplomacy, the media, and everything in between.

Combining political theory and international relations with legal perspectives, you’ll develop your legal skills, enhance your critical and analytical thinking, and learn the political concepts and analytical tools that will help you advance your career in the increasingly complex field of global politics, international law and governance. You’ll study the key aspects of law and enhance your knowledge of European and Middle Eastern geopolitics, international political economy, migration and human rights.

You'll be taught by people who are actively engaged in NGOs, International and European Organisations, as well as think tanks. Your tutors work with Parliament on policy issues, the UN on sustainability, in the middle-east on conflict and post-conflict issues and a host of other important issues and policies.

To study criminology is to embark on a fascinating journey exploring the problem of crime. Learn about its causes and consequences, and investigating how society does and should respond to criminal behaviour in all its forms.
This degree provides an in-depth exploration of crime, criminals, victims and interaction with the Criminal Justice System. It's been designed for those who have an interest in how society responds to deviant behaviour and challenges the concept of social deviancy.

You'll focus on the theoretical concepts and approaches in criminology and their application to contemporary life through studying the impact of social divisions in minorities based on their experiences, interpretations, and representations of crime and criminal justice.

You'll be taught by staff currently involved in researching key issues related to crime and justice, and the findings of their research will influence your learning and research skills. As such, you'll learn to understand the factors that influence criminological research, policy and practice, and learn the fundamental skills of research and analysis.

Recent developments in digital printing have inspired a new generation of printmakers, combining modern and traditional approaches and revolutionising the field. On our MA Printmaking you will develop your own unique approach through practical work, research and critical understanding of your practice. The course will prepare you for working with innovative new materials and applications.

Our MA Fine Art (Printmaking) is a highly practical course that enables you to explore your interests and enhance your skills through experimentation, research and critical analysis. Flexibly designed to meet the ambitions of students from a wide range of creative backgrounds, including illustration, fine art, and design, our course will equip you with the advanced skills, contemporary knowledge and industry insights you need to develop your own practice to a professional standard. The fusion of hand-made and digital forms provides the opportunity to explore a wide range of new and intermixed printing practices.

You will be taught by a diverse range of printmaking academics and industry professionals in the world-class facilities and specialist workshops in our £80 million Grove building, the home of arts and creative industries at Middlesex. BA Business Management (Supply Chain and Logistics)

In today’s business world, success is increasingly hinged on the speed and efficiency of supply chains. In this course ,you’ll learn what it’s like to compete in the global marketplace and organisations that require employees to have both a broad understanding of how businesses operate and specialist knowledge of supply chain processes.

You’ll be taught by experts who have plenty of experience in the area including supply chain scheduling, forecasting and operations management. This course provides you the opportunity to work in a range of businesses and organisations while gaining specialised training in the industry standard software you’ll need to manage and analyse the supply chain.
