This degree explores how cell components are formed and interact at a molecular level. You'll develop your understanding of what causes diseases such as cancer, and how powerful new technologies can be used in drug design and synthesis.

Biochemistry is the study of life at the molecular level and this degree mainly focuses on human body functions. You’ll also explore the chemical processes that occur in cells of other living organisms, from bacteria to humans.

During this three-year degree, you will divide your time equally between politics and sociology – acquiring a rich theoretical understanding of both disciplines and a set of practical skills valued by employers.

The course features regular fieldwork and hands-on workshops to ensure that you graduate as a practising sociologist and political scientist. You'll be trained to conduct surveys, evaluate statistics, and use SPSS – the professional-standard data analysis software.

This four-year Linguistics with Spanish degree concentrates on developing your understanding of how we communicate, and the growth of language in the brain.

You'll explore linguistics in the context of English and Spanish. You'll focus on the structure, history and social aspects of the English language and language in general. You will build a foundation of skills and knowledge to pursue many career paths.

You will study Spanish from an intermediate or advanced level depending on your previous experience. Building your fluency in Spanish alongside your study of linguistics will give you a unique perspective on the language.

In your third year, you'll immerse yourself in Spanish culture as you spend the year in a Spanish-speaking country. You'll further improve your language skills and confidence. You'll also gain a first-hand appreciation for the language in context.

This four-year Linguistics with French degree concentrates on developing your understanding of how languages function, how we communicate and the growth of language in the brain. By studying a broad curriculum in your first two years, you'll develop knowledge in different aspects of computing science, and gain highly desirable skills in problem solving, program design and implementation.

In your final year you can specialise in a particular area of computer science or build your own broad based degree. You can choose topics that are taught by renowned experts in areas such as security and resilience, software engineering, bioinformatics and game engineering

This LLM Law can be taken as a standalone course before undertaking PhD study.

It also forms the initial training component for the four-year (LLM plus PhD) ESRC Northern Ireland/ North East (NINE) Doctoral Training Centre.

This Master of Laws is ideal if you want to gain advanced research skills that will allow you to progress to PhD level study in the field of law and society. Health Services Research MSc is part of the Population Health Sciences Institute. We lead high-impact research to:
