This degree is designed for those who wish to examine the role of sport, health and physical activity within society.

You'll have the opportunity to develop a fundamental understanding of sport management and development, coaching and physical education, and the sociology and psychology of sport. You will also develop an advanced understanding of at least one of these areas of study. You’ll consider the contributions sport makes to society and assess whether and how sport can be improved. This degree provides the background psychological knowledge, professional skills and relevant experience you need to move confidently into working psychologically within the legal, criminal and civil justice systems.

Our MA Interpreting and Translating is designed to give you the practical skills and experience you need to work as an interpreter and translator at a high level.

You must have an excellent understanding of two languages. You can choose from one of two pathways:

• Path 1 allows you to work with two other languages (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish) into English
• Path 2 allows you to work in both directions between Chinese/English or Russian/English

Our interpreting and translating master's have has been running for over 50 years and is highly respected internationally for the quality of the training provided. Many Bath graduates have gone on to work in organisations such as the EU and UN, as well as other language services around the world.

The course covers professional translation and simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting in public service and commercial settings.

You'll have access to the latest digital interpreting labs, and you will participate in mini-conferences to put your skills into practice, holding debates on controversial topics and acting as both delegate and interpreter.

We seek to arrange external training opportunities for our students with the United Nations or independent agencies, giving you first-hand experience of the workplace and valuable contacts for building your career.

The course is taught by experienced tutors who have all worked as professional translators and interpreters themselves. Some have interpreted for heads of state and government ministers, and/or work for international organisations. They are therefore able to share this wealth of experience with you and provide useful advice on joining the profession.

Mathematics enables us to reason logically, to understand structure and to formulate scientific principles, whether from the physical, life or social sciences.

All of our courses are flexible and allow for a wide choice of units after year one. You may be able to switch courses during the first year.

Achieve a grounding in economic theory while learning different statistical approaches for the analysis of economic data.

This course is for those who want an understanding of the tools and key theories within economics and mathematics. You'll use these skills to analyse contemporary problems and policy. On this course, you’ll study the core elements of economics, including microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory and econometrics.

You will develop methodological and statistical tools for the analysis of complex data. Throughout your studies, you will be immersed in a wide variety of quantitative topics. This will enable you to develop and apply your advanced mathematical skills.

In your first year you'll study key concepts in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, and develop your skills in mathematical and statistical theory and applications.

In your second year you'll continue with more advanced study of economic theory, mathematics and statistics. You'll acquire a deep understanding of economic relationships.

In your final year, you'll study topics and techniques in advanced economic theory and mathematics to critique and contribute to current debates. You can tailor your choice of optional units to your personal interests

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to understand the complexities of global economic problems and data, and you will possess advanced quantitative skills and tools to create innovative solutions.

On this course you'll broaden your horizons and experience another culture whilst studying a course that complements your studies at Bath.

Our course gives you the opportunity to build on your first degree with more in-depth knowledge in automotive engineering. Alongside this, you’ll learn key business management skills relevant to a variety of industries but focusing first on the automotive sector.

You’ll advance your technical engineering knowledge in areas such as propulsion systems and how they will influence the future of vehicle engineering. Exploring a range of automotive engineering applications and technologies, you’ll consider their impact, analysing past failures and predicting future challenges and successes. This course allows you to combine your love of chemistry with an interest in how business works.
