If you love lab work and are interested in health and disease but don't want to work in a patient-facing role, then this could be the course for you. Pharmacologists study the effects of drugs on the body – where they act, what they do, and their mechanism of action.
On the course, you’ll gain an integrated view of drug action linked to disease-related functions of the major organ systems. You’ll enhance your understanding of the fundamental principles of chemistry, biology and the physical sciences, and learn to apply these principles to specific problems in drug discovery.
The Master of Pharmacology (MPharmacol) course provides you with a greater exposure to research and practical techniques. As part of the MPharmacol you’ll undertake a placement year in a pharmaceutical company, research institute or university. You will also complete an extensive research project, giving you invaluable experience of working in the field.

Achieve a grounding in economic theory while learning different statistical approaches for the analysis of economic data.
This course is for those who want an understanding of the tools and key theories within economics and mathematics. You'll use these skills to analyse contemporary problems and policy. On this course, you’ll study the core elements of economics, including microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory and econometrics.
You will develop methodological and statistical tools for the analysis of complex data. Throughout your studies, you will be immersed in a wide variety of quantitative topics. This will enable you to develop and apply your advanced mathematical skills.

Apply the full breadth of physics to a wide range of astrophysical phenomena from star formation to black hole growth and the expansion of the Universe.
Physics with Astrophysics at Bath will give you a strong grounding in physics, along with in-depth specialist knowledge of astrophysics. You’ll learn how to combine evidence from stellar and extragalactic astronomy to build consistent theoretical models of the evolution of galaxies.

Our MA Interpreting and Translating is designed to give you the practical skills and experience you need to work as an interpreter and translator at a high level.

Our interpreting and translating master's have has been running for over 50 years and is highly respected internationally for the quality of the training provided. Many Bath graduates have gone on to work in organisations such as the EU and UN, as well as other language services around the world.
The course covers professional translation and simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting in public service and commercial settings.
