Biomedical Science is the in-depth study of human biology in both normal and disease states. Our teaching is strongly linked to research within the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, which includes aspects of applied computing, theoretical computer science, and communications and networks. Statistical analysis of data across various disciplines is a central theme of our research.

This degree is at the cutting edge of development theory, policy and management. It provides students with the critical and analytical skills to enable them to operate effectively in international development environments. Covering macro and micro level perspectives, the course offers rich insights into the challenges of contemporary development theory, policy and management. The course is structured around the compulsory core modules of International Development Theory and International Development Policy, with flexibility built in through the optional course units chosen by students to meet their own objectives and interests.

The objectives of the course are to provide an integrated, cross-disciplinary framework for the postgraduate study of development. The unifying focus of the course is the analysis of strategies for overcoming poverty. Students will gain knowledge of different development paradigms and an awareness of their evolution. Students are encouraged to develop comparative perspectives (between different regions/countries, disciplinary approaches, schools of thought) and through individual study, seminars and written assignments to develop their knowledge and critical and analytical skills in this field.

Oir International Nursing Studies programme is theoretically focused, developed specifically for the international student working towards an advanced practice role. Our LLB programme is flexible in structure and has core first and second years including all seven law foundation subjects. This gives you the ability to switch to a more specialist LLB in the final year and tailor your study to a particular aspect of law by choosing options relating to criminal law, commercial law or social justice or choosing a range of options. By completing the foundation subjects early, this will also put you in a good position to obtain law work experience and placement opportunities and enhance your employability. It also allows you to take your time to decide on which aspect of law is right for you.

The University of Bradford and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to offer a Harrogate Pathway with the aim to recruit locally and therefore develop a sustainable workforce.

This pathway may be of interest to local people with commitments in the area, especially more mature applicants with dependants who may find traveling further afield difficult.

By providing all but one of the practice placements within the Trust we are offering a long term relationship to students. This is also reflected within our commitment agreement.

The pathway is advantageous to the Trust as newly registered practitioners who have followed the pathway will be familiar with the Trust policies and processes as well as having developed working relationships with existing staff.

This three-year Virtual and Augmented Reality degree programme is one of the first of its kind in the UK.
