The Department has a practical relationship with film related organisations such as the Bradford Film Office, UNESCO City of Film and the Working Academy placement agency. These close links provide our students with opportunities to engage on projects outside of the classroom and build up the practical experience needed to break into to film industry.

This full-time Master’s programme will enable you to work on complex Automotive Systems Engineering problems in order to equip you with the skills required to support working in the modern automotive industry.

The automotive engineering landscape is rapidly changing with the advent of connected and autonomous vehicles. Automotive engineers are now expected to work in interdisciplinary design teams, to develop scalable, multidisciplinary systems models covering all aspects of the product lifecycle from conceptual design of the user interaction, through to verification and validation of designs and systems, and all the way through the operation phases of the system lifecycle.

This programme provides both engineering broadening and deepening by exposing you to a range of automotive engineering and computer science topics to prepare you for a role in industry.

You will have the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary automotive team projects with a focus on systems engineering, and at the same time will gain expertise in a chosen specialist research area as part of your MSc Project.

This degree explores how archaeological techniques and the analysis of human remains are used in a forensic (medico-legal) context.

You will gain a full grounding in archaeological excavation, surveying and recording of crime scenes.

In addition, you will also learn about human anatomy and anthropological analysis of human remains, including age, sex, ancestry assessment and the analysis and interpretation of trauma.

Specialist modules will allow you to understand how scientific techniques are used to build up a biological profile of unidentified remains; processes of decomposition (and preservation) of human tissues and associated materials; trauma analysis; and forensic identification of living people.

You'll also gain an understanding of scientific principles and how data should be presented in a legal context.

This three-year Virtual and Augmented Reality degree programme is one of the first of its kind in the UK.

The course has is part of Screen Yorkshire’s Connected Campus initiative and is carefully structured to equip students with the most up-to-date knowledge, skills and experience required by industry.

Human rights and the law is a huge growth area, evolving and expanding in response to new developments, threats, and evolution in our thinking as a society. It has great significance for major global challenges such as war, terrorism, gender, migration and climate change, and interfaces quite significantly with impacts from science and innovation.

This new LLM in Human Rights and Development is designed to provide you with an understanding of human rights in its multi-layered form, with a critical emphasis on its complementarity with development.

The course offers a wide range of modules that are contemporary, academically rigorous and skills oriented. You'll gain core knowledge of the wider context framing law and policy in this field, whilst having the flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your particular interests and career aspirations by choosing from a range of specialist human rights law and development modules.

Our MA in Peace, Resilience and Social Justice is designed for those seeking an advanced understanding of the intersecting crises of climate change/ecological degradation, inequality and injustice, conflict and violence.
The programme critically examines how different actors are responding to these challenges, including efforts to rethink the assumptions and practices that shape our ways of life, public engagement, contentious collective action and practical efforts to design and create more resilient, sustainable and equitable communities.

You will critically explore themes such as:

• The contested meanings of peace, resilience and social justice in a complex and changing world;
• The ways in which scholars, practitioners and activists are analysing and engaging with complex social-ecological systems and crises;
• Creative approaches to conflict engagement, peacebuilding and the pursuit of social justice;
• Your own positioning, responsibilities and vocation as a scholar, practitioner and/or activist within complex systems and relationships.

Our LLB (Hons) degree gives you a rigorous academic legal education and a thorough grounding in legal, academic and clinical skills needed for you to pursue a career as a solicitor or barrister, as well as equipping you for employment in other areas if you choose not to go on to a professional qualification in law.

The programme is taught by a mix of academic experts and practitioner lawyers, who put real world clinical legal experience at the heart of the programme.

You’ll develop a critical grasp of the law and its political, social and economic contexts.

Our LLB programme is flexible in structure and has core first and second years including all seven law foundation subjects. This gives you the ability to switch to a more specialist LLB in the final year and tailor your study to a particular aspect of law by choosing options relating to criminal law, commercial law or social justice or choosing a range of options. By completing the foundation subjects early, this will also put you in a good position to obtain law work experience and placement opportunities and enhance your employability. It also allows you to take your time to decide on which aspect of law is right for you.

The programme will give you a comprehensive grounding in the core disciplines of HR practice, including:

On successful completion you will automatically gain associate level of CIPD professional membership which will entitle you to use ‘Associate CIPD’ after your name. This will demonstrate your professional credibility to future employers in an increasingly competitive global graduate labour market. All students are required to join the CIPD as a student member within one month of commencing the course, and for successful graduates the CIPD joining fee and first-year membership fee are paid by the University as an additional benefit for our students.

As a member of the CIPD you will have the ability to attend local events, opportunities to network with senior professionals and executives, access various training and development activities.

As a University of Bradford chemistry student, you will have choice and flexibility in your degree.

During the first two years, you will develop a sound understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry with core content delivered across the traditional areas of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. 

The third year will introduce you to specialist content in medicinal, materials and analytical chemistry. You will also have the opportunity to study a specific subject by choosing to a greater depth during an extended dissertation.

In the Master's year you will develop a deeper understanding of the application of chemistry to solving real-world problems. Master's-level training focuses on deploying training in real-world settings. Academic research experience involves students working on their own project as part of a research team alongside postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers at the University.
