You'll take part in a group project in year two which prepares you for designing and creating the computer systems of the future. Many projects are in collaboration with industry. Previous students have worked with Capital One, Experian, IBM and UniDays. All these companies have offices in Nottingham. This project is great for your CV and can help you make contacts ready for when you start your career.

Cyberphysical systems integrate computation with physical objects and processes. Examples of cyberphysical systems are:

• 'Smart' devices in the home such as a smart meter or fridge
• Voice assistant devices
• Driverless vehicles
• Medical monitoring equipment
• Wearable devices
• Robotic assistants

Our course is designed for students with a background in computer science or a related field with analytical skills. You'll learn the principles of integrated system design and computational and cyberphysical systems methods and tools. Core modules will broaden your knowledge in key topics such as artificial intelligence, robotics and cybersecurity.

During the summer period, you will undertake an individual research project. This could be software-based or research-based. Collaboration with business, industry, and other outside bodies is encouraged.

Our MA Education allows you to consider education in all of its complexity, as something that both reflects and works to construct different aspects of our social lives and the way our society is organised.

This course aims to strengthen and refine your ability to critically reflect upon your own teaching. You will engage with contemporary theories in education and examine how you might apply them to the practice you carry out. This MSc course offers the chance to study advanced topics in mechanical engineering.

Building upon this broad base, we offer a number of streams which allow you to specialise in one particular area including aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or a general advanced mechanical engineering option.

This flexible course examines the educational needs of children with labels of learning difficulties and disabilities. You’ll consider the importance of communication and literacy and analyse how different countries approach identification and assessments for children with special needs. You’ll graduate with the skills to be able to make a significant impact on the lives of children.

It is designed for graduates, teachers or other professionals who have an interest in increasing their knowledge and skills in the field of special and inclusive education. If you have completed the National Award SEN Coordination, you can select modules from this course to advance to a full MA qualification.
