Gain a thorough understanding of ?nance, including investment, ?nancing, capital investments, capital structure and market ef?ciency, risk management and mergers. Specialist study focuses on investments, with an emphasis on equity derivatives, shares and bonds, and on portfolio analysis. Econometrics is taught alongside, introducing you to a range of statistical techniques and their application in economic analysis. You then study international issues, cross-border obstacles and trading blocs that can hinder global business transactions. You also cover exchange rate movements, in?ation and how it affects interest rates, currency options, ?nancial futures and swaps. In addition, you have a choice of further study options to enable you to widen your knowledge in particular areas of ?nance. You complete your studies researching and writing a dissertation on a relevant subject of particular interest to you.

We'll provide you with an in-depth knowledge of financial economics and with the ability to apply that knowledge to the analysis of a range of practical situations relevant to both future employment and learning. The core syllabus stresses the integration of theory and evidence in economic analysis and research. The course emphasises the acquisition of key analytical and numerical skills and the progressive development of independent research.

This course lasts for one or two years and is designed as a 'top-up' if you have already successfully completed study equivalent to a Foundation Degree, HND or an equivalent professional qualification. At the end of your study you will be eligible to receive a full honours degree. This course is available with a January or September start.

Once graduated you are eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a 'Registered Nurse – Child Health'. You’ll balance classroom learning with gaining experience in hospitals and communities, with equal weighting given to theory and practice. Cyber security is essential for all organisations, with hacking, malicious code and social engineering ever present threats to data. This course provides holistic coverage of cyber security, from governance and policy, to cryptography, penetration testing and digital forensics. Grounded in core computer science, the course develops the knowledge and skills to design, develop and manage secure systems to produce highly employable cyber security professionals.
