If you want to understand the processes that influence how people think, behave, feel and act, then this course is for you.

Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) since 1986, this psychology course is one of the longest established in the UK. We take a contemporary approach, so you will study both BPS core content and innovative modules that explore current developments in psychology.

You will learn from staff and guest speakers with valuable experience in the field, while also having the opportunity to gain work experience where you can apply your knowledge and skills.

Our psychology research facilities include state-of-the-art brain imaging electroencephalogram (EEG), eye tracking equipment and a range of experiment and research software. We provide access and a high standard of support for use of these facilities.

The foundation year course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to continue onto your Honours degree. You will study a range of subjects that will underpin your future study and also gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion of the year allows you to progress straight onto Level 4 of this course.

This course provides excellent teaching in all of key areas of biological sciences including biostatistics, programming in R and data modelling, helping you learn how to design biological research, analyse and model data, and present your results, preparing you for a career where your skills can be applied.

You will do a year-long project as part of a team in the second year, and another year-long project individually, in your third and final year, as well as present your research at the course research conference.

This Biological Sciences degree offers you the flexibility to choose certain modules in your second and third years depending on your interest, allowing you to specialise - from the second year - by taking one of four specialist pathways:

Pharmacology is the study of how drugs act on the human body and vice versa. It is the science of drugs, as well as their physical and chemical properties.

The course will cover the drugs that affect major systems of the body including the central nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine systems.

Topics include pharmacological techniques, toxicology and anticancer drugs.

In the second year, we want you to dig deep into wider applications of sound engineering in different domains, immersing yourself in the tools and techniques that add depth and variety to your engineer's toolbox. We also want to see your personal vision and persona develop, to the point where you are happy to take on work outside of the university.

By the third year, you will have a huge array of marketable skills under your belt and in this final year, you will learn to apply them in a range of environments. You will also prepare a major project of your own choosing, which will present your talent to the world.

During your studies, you will have access to one of the largest audio complexes in Europe, which includes more than 20 studios, as well as teaching rooms, labs and computer suites.

This is one of only eight sound engineering courses in the UK accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) with Full Incorporated Engineering status (IEng).
