Heritage is the legacies of past human activity. From buildings to cultural traditions, studying heritage allows us to understand how we have defined ourselves throughout history.

BA Archaeology and Heritage brings together a depth of knowledge about the human past with a practical understanding of why that knowledge is important for society today. You'll explore different interpretations of heritage and gain practical skills in communicating our past to the public. You'll delve into questions tackling the conflict around heritage and explore how we can protect it for the future.

Develop your knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical and mechatronic principles as you learn how to design solutions to today's biggest engineering challenges. You'll work on group engineering design and project work at every stage, incorporating real-world examples with societal impact. Our Masters in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management will give you practical experience with up-to-date conservation techniques, and an opportunity to work with leading conservation studios, providing you with invaluable work experience, and networks for your future career.

You'll train for a variety of employment in stained glass conservation, cultural heritage management, arts administration, museums, and the administration of historic buildings. You'll combine practical work with intensive seminar study to investigate the key issues in approaches to conservation and heritage. The course will also prepare you for a higher research degree.

The course is based entirely on the historic campus at King's Manor in the heart of the medieval city of York, and you will have continuous access to our dedicated conservation and teaching studio.

Our course is delivered by four University departments with outstanding biomedical research activity: The Department of Biology, The Department of Health Sciences, The Department of Psychology, and the Hull York Medical School. The combined teaching across these departments ensures you have the latest understanding of the most important topics in human biology and disease, infection and immunity, epidemiology, and neuroscience.

Chemistry is often referred to as the 'central science'. It covers topics as diverse as quantum mechanics and the study of atomic particles, to the molecular nature of biological systems and the Human Genome Project.

This degree will give you a strong grounding in fundamental chemistry. You'll also develop specialist knowledge of chemistry for biology and medicine, from the use of powerful microscopes to investigate the causes of genetic disease to exploring new treatments for cancer.

Drawing on expertise of our Engineering Education and Management research group, this course will equip you with a strong background in modern electronics, combined with specialised knowledge in the techniques of business and industrial management. You'll gain practical and team-based experience from your first year onwards, meaning you'll graduate with the skills necessary to begin your management career.

History and French combines wide-ranging historical study with the exploration of French language and culture.

You'll develop your language skills, with a focus on becoming a high-level communicator. Your advanced skills in French will allow you new insights into the forces that have shaped modern societies and cultures as well as the issues and debates that prevail in France today. You'll choose from a wide and exciting range of option modules in History spanning both time and place.

You'll join two departments which are highly respected for their research, and you'll graduate with the ability to navigate international and multilingual environments with confidence and professionalism.

This course will enable you to engage effectively and critically with the theoretical and empirical dimensions of global social policy development. It offers a combination of taught coursework and a supervised dissertation. So you'll have the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge of social policy in a global context. Through your own guided research project you will explore aspects of social policy in which you have a particular interest.

On this MA you can focus on production-orientated work. Alternatively you can focus on formal research into the technologies behind postproduction systems and apply for the MSc Film and Television Production with Visual Effects.
