In this program, you will study anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection, and basic patient care. As is fairly evident from the above sentence, we take both patient and medical personnel safety very seriously. You’ll grow confident in your abilities as you learn from some of the best faculty and professionals in the field.

This CUW bachelor degree is a Two plus Two program, in which you spend the first two years on Concordia’s campus taking prerequisite classes prior to entry into the Radiologic Technology (RT) program. You’ll then apply for the next phase that consists of didactic courses and clinical experience with our partner clinical affiliations. It is worth noting that this is a competitive program, so acceptance is not guaranteed. To improve your chances, we’d like to encourage you to demonstrate exemplary grades, prior health care experience, and job shadow hours.

Because the pre-professional curriculum requires about 67 credits (17 credits per semester if taken in 4 semesters), we highly recommend using winterim and summer breaks to fulfill course requirements. Once you are accepted, the more advanced work begins. At first, you are going to spend most of your time in the classroom and scan laboratory, with less time in clinicals. This is to provide you with the theories and principles to ground you before applying them in a real-world environment. Gradually, your classroom time will be reduced as your clinical component increases. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning at one of our partner clinics including Aurora, Wheaton Franciscan, and Froedtert Health systems.
With this degree, you will be a key part of the health care field by safely creating images needed to check for bone fractures, blocked blood vessels, abnormal growths in breast tissue, brain tumors, and so much more. Upon graduation, you will be ready to find a rewarding career in a variety of settings. Alumni have gone on to work in hospitals, physician's’ offices, medical and diagnostic labs, do research, administration, education, and so much more!

Data science is the extraction of knowledge from large volumes of data. The CUW data science and applied analytics program will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to ethically manipulate and effectively analyze data, revealing insights into problem domains.

Did you know that "Data Scientist" has been named the best job in America for three years running (according to Glassdoor)? And the job outlook is only growing over the next 10 years. As a Data Scientist, you extract, visualize, and communicate information from large volumes of data and work in a variety of areas such as Public Health, Sports and Human Performance, and Environmental Issues.
Through this program's curriculum, you will gain knowledge from four main areas of study: math and statistics, computer science, data science and analytics, and communication. The program emphasizes using tools from statistics, mathematics, and technology to extract valuable information from large sets of data and skills from communication to convey information and insights to a broad audience.

As a DSAA student, you may select a concentration in Public Health, Environmental Issues, or Sport and Human Performance to learn context, vernacular, and key issues of a particular field. Some learning outcomes for this program include:

• Analyze and interpret data using an ethical approach stemming from a Christian worldview
• Demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate statistical analysis and execute using statistical software
• Discern appropriate algorithms and software tools as they apply to problem-solving in various user domains
• Apply data science and analytics concepts and strategies to solve real-world problems
• Communicate the solutions efefctively using oral, written, and symbolic formats

Through the master's degree in church music, you’ll be encouraged to strengthen your theological knowledge and grow as a church musician so that you can better guide and enhance others’ worship. Our graduate program is designed to be completed exclusively in summer sessions, or in combination with evening sessions. This allows us to meet your needs outside of the traditional academic year, while still providing the beneficial personal interaction with the faculty. You’ll be able to choose from two areas of emphasis: organ and choral. And even though our courses are taught from a distinctly Lutheran perspective, all denominations are always welcome.

Through this master’s program, you’ll not only perfect your musical abilities, you’ll deepen your understanding of how music ought to relate to theology, specifically in a worship setting. With the combination of these two areas of expertise, you’ll grow in your ability to shape meaningful worship experiences for parishioners. What will your course work look like? Some courses will focus on areas like music theory, arranging, and composing. Others will prepare you for leadership roles in conducting and directing choirs or instrumental groups. Towards the end of your education, you’ll be asked to demonstrate a knowledge of liturgical music practices, musical forms, and the history of music in the church.

It is a very diverse, crosscutting discipline with vast opportunities, in both public and private sectors, at the local, state, and national levels. This degree offers a Lutheran Christian perspective on public health and prepares you to serve Christ around the world as a globally minded citizen working to protect and promote the public’s health. It is an engaging, multidisciplinary educational program filled with practical application opportunities to prepare you to be a strong, competitive candidate in the public health sector.

In this degree program, you will have the opportunity to personalize your concentration depending on your interest. Regardless of which concentration you choose, all undergraduate students will complete a minimum of 120 credits, including 45 credit hours of general education core curricula, 25 credit hours of required public health coursework, and 3 credit hours of a culminating/capstone project

A good manager can adapt to almost any business structure in any industry. Because managerial skills are, for the most part, universal. This program will allow you to explore how businesses are structured and provide you with the skills you’ll need to succeed in almost any environment. You’ll gain mastery of current software for designing and managing business projects, while adopting proven project management tools and techniques at each stage in a project’s lifecycle. You’ll gain an understanding of how to integrate organizational strategies that involve the parent, supplier, and sub-supplier organizations working together in domestic and global environments.

You’ll also gain practical knowledge of marketing tools, market segmentation, research analysis in decision-making, media and promotion, budgeting, and evaluation. From developing a comprehensive and viable business plan to setting and obtaining investment objectives – such as capital, debt, securitization, and government subsidized options – this program will arm you with a variety of applicable skills. And you’ll learn about small businesses too, the way management is applied. Most importantly, you’ll acquire skills and experience that’ll help you become the well-rounded and insightful leader your organization deserves, whether you’re in small business, investments, or real estate.

English is one of the most versatile degrees you can pursue, because the skills you learn are transferable. Critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing, and communication are essential in pretty much any career field – not to mention your personal life. And as a secondary education major, not only will you gain these skills for yourself, you’ll understand how to pass them on to your students, setting them up for a successful life of learning.

This degree focus will allow you to explore the language, literature, and expression of the Western canon in the context of education. Be ready to demonstrate your understanding of texts and ideas, because you’ll regularly be asked to write analytically and creatively. Professors will motivate you to think critically about texts and consider them within a Christian context, applying their lessons to your day to day life so you can do the same for your students.

Human Resource management is one of the most important roles within any organization. The backbone of a business is built on the way we relate to one another within an organizational structure and the culture it produces.  

This program will teach you about important federal and state legislation, case law decisions, and executive orders that affect employment relationships. You’ll learn to analyze a compensation plan that identifies and describes plan objectives, salary structure, and fringe benefits. You’ll recognize organizational performance models that create effective teams and organizations through employee motivation, engagement, culture, and change management. In addition, you’ll develop methods for attracting, retaining, developing, and engaging a diverse workforce.

You’ll gain an understanding of how strategic planning relates to the workforce and human resource development. And finally, it’s important for us to mold servant leaders at CUW. Through this program, you’ll identify and describe the elements of servant leadership that apply to the work of the human resource professional.

The Art Education major prepares future teachers with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to teach visually and perceptively. As an art educator, you can share tools such as patience, passion, and critical-thinking which are vital for living a peaceful and joyous life. You’ll learn to guide others as they explore their inner selves, the external world, and the relationships between them.

Art provides the means to give physical form to all of human experience. You will learn the power of using faith as a part of education in both public and parochial settings. You will learn to promote engagement between art and theology, the importance of the spiritual as revealed in art objects, sacred spaces, and in artistic practice, and the connections between visual art and faith. You will learn how art affects the development of children from a physical, mental and spiritual perspective. This program is a licensable subject area major for those seeking a K-12 Education Bachelor's degree.

Computer scientists are instrumental to anything and everything that involves computers. And let’s be honest, pretty much everything today involves computers. Robotics, virtual reality, and videogames are often cited as future job areas, but you could also be a part of many other fields—animation, music, automobiles, analytics…the list goes on.

What comes to mind when you think of computer science? In our modern world, there are decreasingly fewer things that don't rely on computers and technology in some shape or form, making computer science one of the most practical and versatile fields of study out there. At Concordia, we define computer science as solving problems using technology. If you can learn to create and manage technology solutions, you can apply your skills to just about any career path.

With five different concentrations available and substantial flexibility in electives, you have the power to customize this degree and make it your own. In this program, you'll receive a well-rounded education through the Concordia Core, as well as a firm foundation of computer science knowledge through our Technology Core. You'll learn the ins and outs of hardware, software, operating systems, databases, coding, and user interfaces. From there, you can branch out into one or more concentrations of computer science, specializing in the areas that are of most interest to you. You can use your electives to earn multiple concentrations, or to explore coursework in any other field at Concordia, broadening your knowledge base.

The MPD Chemical program will provide the additional education and hands-on training that science majors need to secure jobs in the pharmaceutical or chemical product development industries; accordingly classes are taught in an applied manner.

You’ll apprentice with industry partners and learn in state-of-the-art analytical and pilot-scale labs (like the new hybrid classroom/cGMP lab on the Innovation Campus). In addition, you’ll be able to take advantage of networking and collaboration opportunities provided by the Interprofessional Education (IPE) program.
