The Master of Science in Rehabilitations Science (MSRS) is a great option for you, because it allows you to continue broad-based learning at an advanced level. Our courses emphasize studying and applying evidence of what truly works to practicing patient-care. This means we prioritize evidence and clinical-based learning, which gives you the opportunity to put theories into practice. You’ll learn the speciality areas within clinical practice, the research know-how to further advance the field, and the leadership skills that allow you succeed in any setting.

The increasing complexity of construction projects due to regulations, laws, risk management, and technological advances are increasing the demand for managers with specialized knowledge in the industry. Through our program you will learn the expected standards for construction and trades materials, safety, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and mitigating potential litigation. Sophistication in building materials, construction methods, and technologies are needed to repair and expand infrastructure.

As a graduate of this program, you will be equipped to enter the industry as a leader, problem solver, and innovator. You will become valued members of the team for being able to apply modern knowledge to the planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and communication of projects in a timely and safe manner.

This program is offered at the Center locations listed below. Please note, specific Construction and Trades Management (CTM) courses will only be offered at Appleton, Kenosha and Madison. Students may take all other courses at any Center location.

Through this program, you will:

• Gain knowledge of a variety of methods of professional communication (orally and written) for construction and trades audiences
• Recognize legal, ethical, and safety issues and apply professional and Christian standards in decision making and problem solving while minimizing risk
• Apply modern methods of electronic technology, cost estimating and control, project scheduling techniques, and project management to chosen field
• Learn field inspection techniques and safety standards while maintaining high quality assurance and control
• Navigate organizational dynamics, including leadership and employee development as relevant to construction and trades organizations

English is one of the most versatile degrees you can pursue because the skills you’ll learn are transferable. Critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing, and communication are essential in pretty much any career field—not to mention in your personal life.

You have two paths to choose from when pursuing a degree in English at CUW. This program can be a standalone liberal arts degree, or a complementary major for those of you seeking a degree in secondary education. Both routes will allow you to explore the language, literature, and expression of the Western canon. In order to demonstrate your understanding of texts and ideas, you’ll be regularly asked to write analytically and creatively. Professors will motivate you to think critically about texts and consider them within a Christian context, applying their lessons to your day to day life.

Courses center around comprehending, expressing, and analyzing ideas (both others’ and your own), so the content is going to get deep. Get ready to read a wide range of authors, and be prepared to speak up and engage in high-level academic discourse with faculty and fellow students. You will continually be learning to better express yourself by studying how others have communicated their thoughts.

Possibly the only thing greater than unlocking your own creativity through music, is helping someone else unlock theirs. That’s precisely what you’ll do with a focus in music education: help your students learn to express their unique individuality, while providing them with a strong sense of how the shared experience of music brings us all together.
As a music education student, you’ll study music theory, composition, conducting, music history, and forms of the medieval, baroque, pre-classical, romantic, and 20th century periods from around the globe. With such a thorough background, you’ll gain the skills and to share this knowledge with your own students.

Learn the ins and outs of all the instruments in an ensemble by becoming a teacher for K-12 band or orchestra. The K-12 Choral Education curriculum teaches many levels of music theory and music history, conducting, and techniques for teaching brass, woodwinds, percussion, and strings. In addition to learning in the classroom, stay active in your instrumental skills by participating in an ensemble of your choice each semester.

The CUW business management program builds a strong foundation and offers broad liberal arts and business training you’ll need to not just manage, but to lead in today’s ever shifting business environment.

While in the program, you’ll master current software for designing and managing business projects, while adopting proven project management tools and techniques at each stage in a project’s lifecycle. You’ll gain an understanding of how to integrate organizational strategies that involve the parent, supplier, and sub-supplier organizations working together in domestic and global environments. You will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive business plan. With successful completion of the program, students will be equipped to demonstrate their skills to manage and coordinate resources to achieve organizational goals.

Our program will help you define your fields of interest, sharpen your visual as well as technical skills, and to build a professional portfolio. Concordia’s photography major prepares you for the world ahead with the skills and awareness to pursue your chosen future.

The Photography Major is part of a comprehensive curriculum at Concordia intended to develop your professional skills as well as spiritual and intellectual values. Your classes outside your major at CUW will provide you with a well-rounded bachelor’s degree, and your study of photography will include a chosen minor in perhaps Marketing, Business, English, or Graphic Design to help you build the necessary skills for a successful career in photography. Your major courses will be supplemented by internship opportunities that will give each student professional experiences, and enhance your preparation for the professional world.

A degree in Photography can lead to a variety of careers, including fine art, commercial photography, journalism, editing, education and research, museum and online curation, art direction, marketing, storytelling, and more. We encourage students to develop their own professional techniques and style. You’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of the craft of photography using Concordia’s digital facilities to develop contemporary skills, and darkroom facilities to understand and explore historical processes.

Classes outside your major will consist of the liberal arts core curriculum, your selected minor, and foundational studio art courses. In the Photography Major you will study photographic composition, camera usage, studio and natural lighting, editing, digital technologies, contemporary marketing practices, portfolio development, image presentation, and develop the ability to photograph a wide array of subject matter with personal intent and professional standards.

Science aims to understand the incredible intricacies of God's creation. It all starts with a question, which leads to research, forming a hypothesis, testing the hypothesis, and analyzing and communicating the results, which often leads to new questions. This scientific inquiry is what leads to theories and laws that observe and describe the world around us.

In this program, you'll study everything that exists in the earth's environment, from the plants and animals to ecosystems and climate patterns, and how they all correlate. Two concentrations are available; ecology and environmental chemistry. Both tracks take a deep dive into a wide variety of scientific disciplines, with each specialization putting an extra emphasis on ecology or environmental chemistry respectively.

The environmental science major explores the physical, chemical, and biological properties and processes of our world. The program seeks to help students grow in the following six areas:

• Knowledge base: demonstrate an understanding of and an ability to explain major biological and related scientific concepts.
• Laboratory procedures: demonstrate the ability to appropriately collect and analyze data while utilizing laboratory equipment and procedures safely and effectively
• Scientific inquiry: develop investigative and critical thinking skills to explore complex questions and solve challenging scientific problems
• Scientific communication: demonstrate the ability to communicate scientific information effectively to both scientists and non-scientists using oral and written forms of expression
• Vocation and ethics: recognize how vocations in science provide opportunities for service to Christ and others and necessitate ethical behavior in all aspects of science
• God’s design and stewardship: demonstrate an understanding of how/why a Christian sees evidence of God’s design in nature and how to be good stewards of His creation

CUW has teamed up with Milwaukee Area Technical College to provide this bachelor degree program. What does this mean for you? First and foremost, you’ll receive state-of-the-art training in environmental health and water quality from experts at MATC coupled with the top-notch liberal arts program and large selection of minors offered at CUW.

Moreover, you can choose whichever route best fits your goals and needs while you obtain your degree—whether you enroll at CUW for a traditional four-year experience and commute the 3+ miles to MATC, or you divide your education into two distinct periods by completing MATC’s two-year, associate-level program prior to enrolling at CUW. Either choice will equip you with the skills you’ll need to make an impact; it’s up to you to decide which one best suits you.
Our environmental health and water quality technology program will teach you how to identify, monitor, and evaluate environmental health hazards. You’ll learn to promote environmental protection, improvement, and sustainability. Furthermore, you’ll be ready to apply relevant guidelines and regulations, control and handle hazardous materials, and perform water and wastewater analysis. The environmental health and water Quality technology program provides a solid foundation for a range of career opportunities that include the application of regulations and procedures to identify, evaluate, and control hazards.

This concentration in leadership along with the MBA core courses will prepare you to problem solve through practical applications for decision-making in the dynamic business environment. Pairing this core with a concentration in leadership gives you a specific focus on leadership with emphasis on understanding yourself as a leader, leading teams, and leading organizations.Your studies will combine theoretical study of leadership with the practical techniques and skills required in today’s organizations. You’ll discover your leadership strengths and integrate your technical competencies to lead teams and organizations. You’ll graduate with a strong set of business competencies by understanding the qualitative and quantitative data that drive business decision-making, all while building the “soft skills” that will make you a more effective leader in your organization. This ‘best of both worlds’ approach will make you a well-rounded asset to your organization.

The MPD Chemical program will provide the additional education and hands-on training that science majors need to secure jobs in the pharmaceutical or chemical product development industries; accordingly classes are taught in an applied manner.

• Centered around drug discovery work, this one- of-a-kind program fills an unmet industry need for highly skilled employees
• You’ll focus on traditional chemistry and instrumentation principles as a way of creating and validating potential new active pharmaceutical ingredients, streamlining complex synthesis, analyzing the shelf-life of API’s, or designing cost-effective synthetic routes
• Individual product development projects partner you with an industry expert to build on existing ideas or cultivate your own original designs
• Curriculum blends technical skills with business strategy, market analysis, regulatory/compliance (FDA, ISO), and legal considerations (patent, licensing)

You’ll apprentice with industry partners and learn in state-of-the-art analytical and pilot-scale labs (like the new hybrid classroom/cGMP lab on the Innovation Campus). In addition, you’ll be able to take advantage of networking and collaboration opportunities provided by the Interprofessional Education (IPE) program.
