Nursing is a challenging, rewarding career. A nationwide nursing shortage means great career opportunities are available. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), our nursing AS degree program takes four semesters, and graduates are eligible to take the National licensing exam NCLEX. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in computer and information technology security.  Cybersecurity degrees lead to positions as a systems administrator, intelligence analyst, network engineer, information security manager, network security engineer, or information systems analyst.

The Exercise Science AA pathway degree is for students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. This degree can lead to careers in personal fitness, coaching and athletic training, or to advanced professional degrees in sports nutrition, physical therapy and other related professions.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 1000 may be able to be tested out for no credit. The Psychology AA pathway is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at a college or university. This degree provides the lower division psychology major courses required at many universities while exposing students to the core principles and practices of the psychology field.

This degree enables students to develop a strong foundation in research methods, statistics and biological aspects of behavior, and will offer a variety of elective courses to help students develop their knowledge of human behavior, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

The mass communications AA pathway degree is perfect for students seeking a Bachelor's degree in mass communications, journalism, advertising, public relations, education or telecommunications. Careers may include writing for various media, broadcasting, corporate communications, serving as governmental agency spokesperson, copywriting and other roles in advertising and public relations, video and audiovisual production and sales, or political lobbying.

The Humanities AA pathway is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Humanities or a related field. Humanities is an interdisciplinary program with coursework that covers a broad range of studies. The curriculum encourages students to broaden their world view by studying history, literature, fine arts, philosophy, and foreign languages.

The business administration and management AS degree prepares you to assume management or supervisory positions in business, industry and government. Learn basic skills in a broad range of business functions, including accounting, computer usage, management and marketing.

The medical sciences pathway AA degree is ideal for students who wish to pursue Bachelor's degrees and/or professional programs in the dental, medical or veterinary fields. Depending upon your chosen degree, careers include dentist, physician, chiropractor, pharmacist, veterinarian and teacher, plus a variety of other jobs in related fields such as physical or occupational therapist, researcher and salesperson.

If you plan to earn a Bachelor's degree in education with the goal of becoming a teacher, the education teacher preparation AA pathway degree is designed for you. You must have a standard high school diploma or a GED to qualify for this program.

The Liberal Arts & Sciences pathway is designed for students who want to pursue a bachelor's degree in a variety of fields.
