The paralegal studies AS degree prepares you for a paraprofessional career as a paralegal (legal assistant). Under the supervision and direction of a licensed attorney, a paralegal may engage in legal research, case development, preparation of legal documents and trial exhibits, analyzing information, interviewing clients, assisting in office management, and other responsibilities unique to the legal profession. Graduates of the program are prepared to sit for national certification exams.

The office administration: office management technology AS degree prepares you for mid-management office positions such as administrative office manager, office manager, equipment sales representative, administrative support manager, staff assistant, executive secretary, human resource technician, office manager, or executive assistant.

The public health AA pathway is for students interested in earning Bachelor's degrees in public health or related fields. This program provides a broad-level understanding of the goals and challenges of public administration and the relationship of these to more specialized aspects of planning, organization, management, and analysis in the public sector at the national, state, and local levels.

Please note only 60 of these credits are needed for AA degree completion. For each pathway, IDS 2891 is a degree requirement, and for most of the pathways, SLS 1106 is required for first-time-in-college students. CGS 2100 may be able to be tested out for no credit. This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in music, music education, therapy, publishing, or music history. Careers include performing, composing, teaching, music therapy, music critic, booking agent, concert manager, publishing, sales, music storeowner, instrument repair, audio and sound technician.

The HCC Associate in Arts degree in Theatre is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's in drama or theatre. This pathway provides a foundation in acting, technical design, back stage work and production. Additional careers include directing, writing and teaching.

Attention all Visual and Performing Arts Students:
Due to the sequential nature of arts tracks, beginning your chosen track of electives in your first semester of study is imperative. Postponement of arts electives will result in additional time spent to complete the curriculum. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that students avoid taking electives outside their designated track in order to avoid potential financial aid or graduation issues.

The business administration AA pathway is for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business, specializing in fields such as accounting, economics, finance, insurance, marketing, or management. Careers include management positions in nearly every business and industry, such as sales, accountant, labor negotiator and business owner.

The business administration international business AS degree prepares you to assume management or supervisory positions in business, industry and government. This program provides basic skills in a broad range of business functions, including accounting, computer usage, management and marketing, while allowing for study of foreign languages, global cultures, international politics and trade relations.

The HCC Philosophy Associate in Arts degree pathway is a for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in philosophy at a college or university. The associate degree provides students with the foundational knowledge required to enhance their understanding of philosophy as a critical inquiry of nature and human society, to analyze and evaluate major paradigms in philosophy from historical and contemporary perspectives, to sharpen critical thinking and argumentative skills, and to prepare students to transfer to a university.

This degree offers students a fundamental understanding of the main fields of philosophy, including logic, ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, social and political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion while exposing students to a broad spectrum of philosophical theories. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.

This pathway is for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in Philosophy.
