Classical Languages and Literatures

The concentration in Classical Languages and Literatures emphasizes language training in ancient Greek and/or Latin and provides the student with a strong background in classical literature and in related areas of study within classics – for example, ancient history, philosophy, art history, and the religious traditions of Greece and Rome and early Christianity.

Forensic Science
Forensic science is the application of science to investigations pertaining to the legal system. Forensic scientists apply principles and techniques of various sciences to the examination and comparison of biological evidence, trace evidence, impression evidence, drugs, and firearms.

The profession requires critical thinking, communication skills, the application of natural and physical sciences to legal issues, and ethical responsibility. This program provides students with a strong foundation in physical and natural sciences and acquaints them with various relevant aspects of the legal system.

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University established the LL.M. Program in Family Law in response to contemporary family law practice's increased demand for specialization and need for an interdisciplinary focus for resolving family issues. The only program of its kind in the eastern United States, and one of only three programs in the country, Hofstra Law's LL.M. Program in Family Law furthers Hofstra Law's commitment to developing skilled and compassionate family lawyers who have a thorough grounding in the issues central to the field - divorce, family violence, child custody, abuse, neglect, and support - as well as knowledge in related areas such as tax, contracts, real estate and partnership law, child psychology and treatment options.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. This transition from an INTO Hofstra program to a university degree program is called progression.

Physics
The BA in Physics is best for students who are interested in teaching at the middle or high school level or are interested in technical careers that don't require graduate degrees. This degree gives students the freedom to take courses in the liberal arts and pursue other minors. The BA also makes sense for students who will be pursuing careers in law, business, or medicine.

Mathematics - Chemistry

Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering students concentrate in one of three areas: Biomechanics, Bioelectricity, or Pre-Med. You'll first build a foundation in universal engineering theories, mathematics, and the physical and life sciences, before moving on to courses in your area of interest:

The BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE is the largest program in the Department of Computer Science and offers a deep foundation in the main areas of computing. There are a wide range of available concentrations to pursue in fields such as cybersecurity, gaming and animation, web and mobile applications, plus flexible choices of technical electives.

Gaming and Graphics

The Concentration in Gaming and Graphics is aimed at educating students in the design and development of video games and game engines.  This is a very exciting and growing industry. Video games have permeated all segments of population and industry from entertainment to educational. All courses in this concentration include a significant experiential component.

This management degree focuses on operations, including what it takes to get products and services smoothly into the hands of consumers, from supply and distribution to transportation and logistics. You'll take classes in subjects like e-commerce, service operations management, and purchasing.

Take your place as an innovative leader in sports and recreation through the Master of Science in Sports Science at Hofstra University. Develop a design and implementation skill set for creating training programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce injuries. Choose from two concentrations: Strength and Conditioning, and Exercise Physiology. Apply what you learn in the classroom to the real world through fieldwork experiences. Scholarships are available for qualified candidates.
