Sports Media

You may pursue a Sports Media concentration with coursework in broadcast news writing and reporting, sports reporting, and television sports reporting and producing.

Help solve the biggest challenges of our time, from social injustices to climate change, when you enroll in the MA in Sustainability program at Hofstra University. This program takes a balanced approach in trying to understand how to make developed countries more sustainable while also addressing the sustainability crisis in the developing world. With a focus on entrepreneurship, community development and sustainability management, the program teaches students to be part of the emerging green economy. Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Classical Civilizations

The concentration in Classical Civilizations focuses on the literatures of antiquity (taught in translation), along with additional emphases in the ancient languages, and in related areas of study within classics – for example, ancient history, philosophy, art history, and the religious traditions of Greece and Rome and early Christianity.

The BA in Geography is a liberal arts degree that is appropriate for students who want a career that involves qualitative research of communities and cultural phenomena. You'll examine the ways communities interact with their environment and how that shapes public policy and government institutions, and impacts businesses, education, health, and economic development.

The BA in Geography with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provides general geography majors with a thorough grounding in this fast-growing, high-tech field.

Africana Studies
Students can pursue Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies, and learn about the identities, history, geography, language, politics, economics, and cultural experience of the African people, as well as Black peoples in the Americas and Europe. Learn how Africa's natural resources are fueling the economies of the developing world.

Chemistry
The BS in Chemistry equips our graduates to work as lab technicians and chemistry sales/technicians. It is also designed for students who plan to pursue graduate studies in patent law, chemistry, materials science, and other fields.

Biology - Marine Biology

Information Systems

This program focuses on information systems and information technology. Students will decide on specific technologies that they are most interested in managing: Network and cyber–security (also earn CISCO certification), web and commerce, database and big data, healthcare and enterprise systems (look for our SAP certification coming soon).
