Labor studies can be a great asset for a wide range of careers in business (particularly human resources), forensic economics, government, higher education, journalism, labor and employment law, labor unions, mediation and arbitration, personal injury law, policy research, public relations, and social justice organizations.

Labor studies also prepares students for graduate programs in labor and industrial relations and in related areas of business, economics, education, journalism, law, media, public administration, and the social sciences.

Theater Arts
For the student preparing for a career in the practice of theater as a performer, director, designer or technician. The BFA degree (in performance or production) is intended to provide a small, specialized group of such students with a high level of competence.

The arrival of the Big Data Era has created a significant demand for people who are well-educated in business analytics. The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics is well-positioned to deliver this program with many faculty members who are scholars and/or have experience in this area.

The program will prepare students for business analytics careers in industry, government, health care and nonprofit organizations. This program enhances the students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and practical experience in this field.

The BACHELOR of SCIENCE in COMPUTER ENGINEERING program is concerned with the design of hardware and software for computing devices and systems. Computer Engineering students take a rigorous set of courses in hardware and software related topics. Graduates with a degree in computer engineering typically secure jobs that involve the design of embedded systems, mobile devices, automotive sensing and control systems and biomedical devices to name a few. They are also capable of working in software roles such as software engineering and web and mobile development.

Web and Mobile Engineering

The concentration in Web and Mobile Engineering is aimed at educating students in the field of Web and mobile computer applications. This is a continually growing and changing field. Almost all computer applications must provide access on the Web and/or mobile devices. Courses in this concentration offer a hands-on approach to learning Web and mobile programming.

Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Forensic Linguistics, the scientific study of language, is a vital investigative tool for law enforcement and intelligence experts in the United States and around the world. The Master of Arts (MA) in Forensic Linguistics, the first program of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, will teach you how to use a linguist’s core tools, including phonetics, syntax, semantics and sociolinguistics, to analyze language in legal and other real-world settings. Learn from brilliant scholars who have worked with the FBI and consulted on an extensive array of criminal cases and counterterrorism efforts. Our program combines a broad-based academic experience with applied workshops and internship opportunities working on ongoing cases.

Sustainability Studies
The BA program looks at sustainability through a liberal arts lens. This degree has more freedom to choose electives than the BS program since there are less science and math courses required. It is designed for students who aspire to work in public policy, law, urban planning, community development or business.

The BS in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is better suited for students with a mind for processing data. It offers technical-oriented, professional-grade training in GIS and geospatial technologies, and requires significant math, statistics, and natural science coursework. Unlike the major in geography, the GIS degree requires a minor or a second major in an area outside geography. Some popular choices among our GIS students include civil engineering, biology, journalism, and political science.
