The BS program is appropriate for students whose interests in urban ecology are centered on the science and involved in restoring and maintaining healthy urban habitats and their associated green spaces.

An INTO Hofstra International Year One in Fine and Performing Arts will prepare you to enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. Upon successful completion of International Year One and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. This program pairs you with dedicated faculty who help you succeed in your first year at Hofstra University.

Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Students in this program combine the early childhood/childhood education major with an arts or science co-major from either Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or the DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science.

We recommend you choose a co-major in an academic discipline that could also be taught on the secondary level. If you major in an area like English, History, Mathematics, Foreign Language, or one of the sciences, you may be able to apply directly to New York state for additional certification in secondary education in that subject area.

This concentration prepares student musicians for careers in publishing, recording, sales, management, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and the many other fields that make up the music business.

Political Science
Develop an understanding of the workings of government at the local, national and international level, and prepare for a career in public service, law, business, campaign management, and polling, education and nonprofits.

As a student at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, our courses will help you develop skills to work in global markets and economies, strategic management, marketing, and more.

Take classes in International Financial Management, International Marketing, and International Strategic Management to learn about business in different parts of the world and take electives such as Law in the Global Economy.

Wondering how you can improve the well-being of entire communities? The growing field of community health gives you a deep understanding of how race, education, gender, and socioeconomic factors are connected to health inequities and social justice issues on the local, national, and global level.

Community Health majors learn about the biological, social, and behavioral factors affecting public health, and examine the ethical and legal issues in modern-day health care. You’ll study drug and alcohol abuse, the sexual health life cycle, and chronic and communicable diseases, and learn how to assess individual and community health needs so you can plan, implement, and evaluate community health programs.

The major concentration enables students to establish a strong base of specialized knowledge in one of the areas of study represented in the Zarb School of Business.
