Information Systems
Information systems are at the center of all businesses, big and small, and the demand for information systems professionals is growing as companies use advanced technologies to manage operations around the world.

A major in information systems (IS) will prepare you for a career in systems analysis, operations management, information systems, and information technology. Courses in this major integrate active learning experiences that develop your analytical and decision-making abilities, with team-building skills that improve your ability to incorporate diverse viewpoints and contributions.

When you pursue your Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling (MSMHC) at Suffolk University, you’ll gain core counseling, case conceptualization, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. As you systematically complete the curriculum, you'll develop a competency base from which to perform effectively in your area of specialization.

Whether you see yourself doing environmental research on rainforests, advocating for better air-quality policies, or working in government, you can explore these interests as an environmental studies major.

Concentration in Environmental Policy
You’ll learn to be an interdisciplinary problem-solver, drawing from the natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences. You’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of complex environmental issues. Focus your studies with a concentration in environmental policy or urban environmentalism. You might enhance your studies with service learning for an environmental organization, study abroad in Costa Rica or the Galapagos Islands, or a research project with classmates right here in Boston. English
Suffolk’s English majors explore the powerful connections between literary themes and modern issues. You’ll learn to articulate strong points of view, compose your thoughts in an organized and creative way, identify major literary themes, and draw lessons from groundbreaking works that illuminate aspects of the human condition.

The Department of Philosophy offers a variety of courses in which you'll study the principles of critical thinking and argumentation that help us address these questions. Here you can take classes on topics from logic to the philosophy of art, from existentialism to environmental ethics, from feminism to the philosophy of race and gender. We also feature courses outside the western tradition, including Chinese philosophy, Buddhism, African philosophy, and Native American religion. In advanced seminars, you'll delve into the works of the great philosophers—Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, and others.
