Advertising
The skills you need to succeed in the fast-paced, competitive world of advertising. The creativity to dream up buzz-worthy campaigns. You'll hone both as a Suffolk University advertising major.

You’ll learn advertising industry basics, including how to create ads and plan campaigns that appeal to industry brands and nonprofits' target markets. You’ll build ads from the ground-up, writing copy and designing visual elements. Plus, you'll study the fundamentals of media planning and buying as they apply to television, radio, print, online, and social media advertising.

What's it take to succeed in PR? Image is almost everything, but there's a lot you'll need to learn. Suffolk University's public relations major will ground you in the business—and the art—of crafting attention-getting, thought-provoking campaigns that make a difference.

You’ll begin by learning the foundations of public relations, including its history, theory, trends, and practices. You’ll take courses in professional writing, digital and social media, web design, and event planning and promotion. With a Master in Management and Organizational Leadership, you can develop all the skills needed to hit the ground running in a leadership role.

Suffolk’s MMOL curriculum is purpose-built to teach you how to think like a leader and ground you in organizational behavior, negotiation, interpersonal skills, leadership, team-building, conflict resolution, successful management of people and projects, and to get first-hand exposure to global business practices with a required travel seminar. The MMOL program prepares you to excel in a variety of leadership roles such as human resource specialist, operations manager, contract administrator, training and development manager, project coordinator, and more.

With this major, you’ll examine environmental issues from an interdisciplinary scientific perspective. You’ll explore how humans affect nature in order to find solutions to the world’s environmental problems. You’ll build on foundation courses in environmental science with coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and math. You’ll also study the social, cultural, and political aspects of the environment through courses in ethics and environmental policy. If you’re creative, passionate, driven, and want to be an impact player in the business world, the entrepreneurship major is for you.

The curriculum has two paths: corporate entrepreneurship and launching new ventures.

Incorporate entrepreneurship, the curriculum takes you on a practical journey of idea generation, opportunity feasibility, business planning, and strategic consulting with small firms.

In the launch sequence, you’ll work with faculty to create a new venture. The program is flexible and allows movement between both paths throughout your academic career.
