Whether you're into data-driven analysis or the philosophy of decision science, we have a concentration that's perfect for you. Choose between mathematical economics, economic analysis and policy, or philosophy, politics, and economics. You will have the opportunity to make networking connections through organizations such as the Economics Club, International Business Association, and the Business Honors Program.

The BS in Public Health degree offers a broad overview of public health research and practice, introducing you to the multiple focus areas within public health (e.g., epidemiology, health behavior, health policy). Our students also gain hands-on experience working with community partners to improve the health of populations. Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the BS in Public Health degree is designed to prepare students to:

• Identify key health challenges facing a community, based on evaluation and synthesis of public health information.
• Recognize the importance of evidence-based strategies to address public health challenges facing a community.
• Advocate for improved health in the community, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.

Because managers are the ones who skillfully coordinate and control the activities of the organization to achieve business goals.  At the core of good management is the need to know how to attract, motivate and reward the best and brightest people.  Management is also about effective alignment.  Organizations are complicated systems that rely on the effective coordination of people, technology and organizational processes to be successful.  Managers drive this alignment through their skills of strategic thinking, strong communications and employee motivation to create business value.

Today’s business environment requires graduates who can effectively evaluate and make decisions, lead employees and manage resources. Management is ideal for people who like big picture thinking, can understand how processes work, have a passion for problem-solving and who can multi-task effectively to help create value for the organization. Management is also a great place to start for entrepreneurs interested in starting their own businesses.

Students who successfully complete an INTO UAB Graduate Pathway program in Mechanical Engineering are assured progression to a UAB graduate business degree program upon submission of additional required application materials. Mechanical Engineering
As a mechanical engineer, the devices you design are critical to our modern economy and future innovation. A master’s degree can help you learn advanced engineering methods and give you research opportunities.

We've developed a research-intensive curriculum, with unique hands-on experiences and mentorship from our faculty. As you earn your degree, you'll have the option of choosing a path with or without a thesis. With a thesis, you’ll take more mathematics courses, which can be beneficial if you want to pursue a doctoral degree. If you'd rather do a research or design project, you can do so with an emphasis in research/design or technology/engineering management. No matter what you choose, you will have an opportunity to explore a number of research areas.

But before you see your name in lights, we first have to hone your talents and teach you about topics such as scenery, lighting, makeup, and even theatre history. But don't worry, we'll want to get you on the stage often during your education, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to put your new skills to use. In fact, with our state-of-the-art theatres and scene design shop, you'll have opportunities to participate in or create professional-level productions.

Social Work
If you want to help people, consider a social work degree, and learn how to make a difference in some of the world's most difficult challenges—poverty, addiction, physical and mental illness, discrimination, and loss. In the process, find out how to turn social work into a career.

To begin with, we'll teach you about values, welfare, human behavior, social environments, and research. You'll get to explore topics like social and economic justice for populations at risk. Then you'll complete a practicum, giving you real-world experience working at an actual social service agency. Because, when you graduate, we want you to have everything you need to start a career in social work. That means you can do more than make a living for yourself—you can change lives. You can make a difference.
