Industrial Engineering
Industrial engineering (IE) is a field of study intended for individuals who are interested in formulating mathematical, statistical, and computer simulation models of complex systems in manufacturing, logistics, information, healthcare, transportation, financial, utilities, entertainment, and service. IEs connect big data sets and models to make engineering decisions for improving system performance and developing public policies. Unlike traditional disciplines in engineering, the scope of the industrial engineering field is very broad.

The Electrical Engineering major offers study in all areas fundamental to the analysis, design, and development of electrical devices and systems. ?The areas covered by the major include foundational topics such as circuits and electrical power, to applications such as Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Security,  and Data Analytics. The major offers curriculum tracks that include: Bioelectrical Systems, Communication Systems, Energy, Power and Sustainability, Mechatronics, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Micro and Nano-scale Systems and Wireless Systems. The B.S. program is intended for students planning to pursue graduate studies in physics or a closely related field.

Environmental Science and Policy-M.S.
The Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy is designed to provide students the discipline-specific knowledge and transferable skills to understand the socio-cultural and political context in which environmental problems are created and ameliorated, as well as the scientific expertise to explore and analyze the consequences of ongoing environmental change. Students can specialize in wetlands and water, natural environments, climate and hazards, geographic information systems, or human-environment interaction. The program offers both thesis and professional tracks as courses of study.

Civil Engineering
Civil engineers will be entrusted by society to create a sustainable world and enhance the global quality of life. Civil engineers will serve as master planners, designers, constructors, and operators of society’s economic and social engine, the built environment (i.e., infrastructure); innovators and integrators of ideas and technology across the public, private, and academic sectors; managers of risk and uncertainty caused by natural events, accidents, and other threats; stewards of the natural environment and its resources; and, leaders in discussions and decisions shaping public environmental and infrastructure policy.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Criminal Justice online program develops in qualified students the skills to apply principles, theories, and research in the field of criminal justice to “real world” issues.

Marketing
Marketing is a dynamic field with many dimensions, including product selection and planning, product distribution, pricing and promotion. Marketing poses many challenges and yields generous rewards for those who meet these challenges. Marketing operations are carried out domestically and internationally in all business organizations that offer a good or service. Many marketing concepts are applicable to the operations of non-profit organizations such as governmental, educational, and healthcare institutions, as well as charitable and political campaigns. Marketing operations provide the most visible links between the firm or institution and its many publics. Marketing deals with people who are constantly changing in their needs, wants, and desires; and coupled with these changing tastes is a fiercely competitive environment sustained by all the resources of a rapidly evolving technology. These forces lead to much of the challenge and dynamic nature of marketing.

The Marketing program prepares students for initial entry and management positions in many areas of marketing with a curriculum that is concerned with:

• Understanding how to attract and retain customers;
• Having the ability to find and analyze information;
• Being able to design, collect, and analyze marketing information to be used in managerial decision making;
• Using digital and traditional media to reach customers;
• Having personal communication skills that businesses demand;
• Being capable of writing an actionable marketing plan;
• Understanding and being able to apply the latest marketing concepts, including marketing automation.

World Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Classical Civilizations
The Bachelor of Arts in World Languages and Cultures offers students a solid foundation in language and linguistic skills, as well as knowledge of diverse cultures. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to interact and participate in a global environment.

The Department of Chemistry offers Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Non-thesis Master of Arts degrees. The Chemistry graduate faculty is comprised of full-time senior faculty members, all holding the Ph.D. degree. The combination of a large and strong faculty with a wide variety of courses provides students with programs of study that can be tailored to fit individual needs, while maintaining a sound background in all general aspects of Chemistry. The excellent research facilities and low student-faculty ratio combine to afford unique opportunities for advanced study in Chemistry.

The degree in Physical Sciences will prepare students for employment in technical fields requiring a background in one or more of the physical sciences.
