The Master of Science in Advanced Athletic Training has an emphasis on youth sports injury and other advanced athletic training competencies. This post-professional major is directed towards students either who hold the athletic training credential issued by the Board of Certification (BOC) or who are BOC-eligible or have equivalent athletic training professional preparation and wish to seek an advanced degree.  This major is designed to provide students with a post-professional degree in Advanced Athletic Training with an emphasis on youth sports injury.  For information on tuition costs, please contact the Department.

The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry provides opportunities for curricula individually tailored to meet many career objectives.

Marketing is a dynamic field with many dimensions, including product selection and planning, product distribution, pricing and promotion. Marketing poses many challenges and yields generous rewards for those who meet these challenges. Marketing operations are carried out domestically and internationally in all business organizations that offer a good or service. Many marketing concepts are applicable to the operations of non-profit organizations such as governmental, educational, and healthcare institutions, as well as charitable and political campaigns. Marketing operations provide the most visible links between the firm or institution and its many publics. Marketing deals with people who are constantly changing in their needs, wants, and desires; and coupled with these changing tastes is a fiercely competitive environment sustained by all the resources of a rapidly evolving technology. These forces lead to much of the challenge and dynamic nature of marketing.

The Marketing program prepares students for initial entry and management positions in many areas of marketing with a curriculum that is concerned with:

• Understanding how to attract and retain customers;
• Having the ability to find and analyze information;
• Being able to design, collect, and analyze marketing information to be used in managerial decision making;
• Using digital and traditional media to reach customers;
• Having personal communication skills that businesses demand;
• Being capable of writing an actionable marketing plan;
• Understanding and being able to apply the latest marketing concepts, including marketing automation.

Quantitative Economics and Econometrics
The B.S. in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics is a baccalaureate degree focusing on the more analytical and applied aspects of economics, including forecasting, program and business evaluation, benefit/cost analysis and economic impact analysis.

The Sociology M.A. provides a foundation in a broad range of sociological theories and research methods and an opportunity for pursuing specialized interests in elective Sociology courses, courses in other departments, and thesis research. Many of our M.A. recipients continue in a sociology Ph.D. Others teach in secondary schools and junior colleges, are employed in mental health services and research, in human resources management, and government organizations, or work as research consultants and market analysts.

The Graduate Pathway in Computer Science and Engineering offers you the chance to enhance your English and academic ability. Computer Engineering-M.S.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers both a thesis and non-thesis option for the degree of Master of Science in Computer Engineering (M.S.C.P.). The thesis option requires students to pursue a more concentrated range of topics, while the non-thesis option allows students to explore various areas of computer engineering. There is considerable freedom in the choice of the courses.

The breadth of subjects that comprise computer engineering together with the immense diversity of its applications, make it imperative that students in the Master’s major maintain close contact with the Graduate Director, or, if choosing the thesis option, with their major professor to achieve a coherent plan of study directed towards a specific goal. In particular, selection of courses should only be made with prior consultation and approval of the major professor or the Graduate Director.

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Intelligence Studies is an applied graduate major designed to train a “next generation” of information and intelligence professionals for the private and public sectors. The Cyber Intelligence Concentration is designed to develop intelligence professionals who specialize the cyber domain USF’s Intelligence Studies major is built around an innovative STEM-based model for professional analytic education. The curriculum focuses primarily on developing analytic competencies, and subsequently allows students to focus on specialized subject-matter areas. The principal aim is to train problem-solvers who understand strategic concepts and analytic methodologies and can apply that knowledge to advance an organization’s interests and objectives.

Sociology
The Sociology major is designed to provide students with a broad liberal arts education and a greater understanding and insight into the social systems and processes that bear upon everyday lives. Opportunities for students with Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology are quite varied. Some go on to work for human service agencies; others work in personnel, criminal justice, and urban planning; others enter graduate programs in sociology, education, law, medicine, or social work. Toward these ends, all students are encouraged to become skilled in the use of computers and libraries.

Industrial engineering (IE) is a field of study intended for individuals who are interested in formulating mathematical, statistical, and computer simulation models of complex systems in manufacturing, logistics, information, healthcare, transportation, financial, utilities, entertainment, and service. IEs connect big data sets and models to make engineering decisions for improving system performance and developing public policies. Unlike traditional disciplines in engineering, the scope of the industrial engineering field is very broad.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering take coursework in advanced chemistry, thermodynamics, fluids, heat, and mass transfer, numerical methods, separation processes, reacting systems, instrumentation, control, and plant and product design. Students must also satisfactorily complete a design project as part of their major. Chemical engineering students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in required departmental courses. Therefore, it is imperative that the students retain close contact with their advisor. Students completing this major normally initiate their careers in manufacturing, environmental, and biological enterprises. Chemical engineers are found in administrative, technical, and research positions in these industries. Main products of these industries are petrochemicals, polymers, fibers, natural and synthetic fuels, electronic materials, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, bio-materials, etc.
