The Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy is designed to provide students the discipline-specific knowledge and transferable skills to understand the socio-cultural and political context in which environmental problems are created and ameliorated, as well as the scientific expertise to explore and analyze the consequences of ongoing environmental change. Students can specialize in wetlands and water, natural environments, climate and hazards, geographic information systems, or human-environment interaction. The program offers both thesis and professional tracks as courses of study.

Religious Studies
In Religious Studies, students are exposed to a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary study of the way in which both individuals and civilizations are deeply influenced by human religious experience. The goal is to enable the educated person to understand better the various ways in which religious values and institutions shape human behavior through a comparative study of religions and cultures. Such an education is invaluable for careers as diverse as journalism, law, medicine, business, as well as careers more directly related to the practice of religion. Majors in Religious Studies will also find courses designed to give them the methodological, theoretical and linguistic skills needed to go on to advanced graduate study in the field.

This program has been certified as a Global Pathway. Global Pathway programs have significant global content and align with the goals of USF’s Quality Enhancement Plan, the Global Citizens Project. Students in Global Pathway programs are well positioned to earn the Global Citizen Award and become eligible to apply for a study abroad scholarship offered by the Global Citizens Project.

The B.F.A. program in Studio Art will expose the student to many possibilities in the art-making process. The areas of emphasis in art media are animation, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and video. These options provide access to a comprehensive program of study in art. Students can develop their conceptual and technical skills in a particular art discipline or decide to investigate a specific subject through the use of numerous media and “mixed” forms of art.

Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering major offers study in all areas fundamental to the analysis, design, and development of electrical devices and systems. ?The areas covered by the major include foundational topics such as circuits and electrical power, to applications such as Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Security,  and Data Analytics. The major offers curriculum tracks that include: Bioelectrical Systems, Communication Systems, Energy, Power and Sustainability, Mechatronics, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Micro and Nano-scale Systems and Wireless Systems. Engineering Management-M.S.
The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program, established in 1982, is a multidisciplinary graduate degree program for engineers and individuals with technical backgrounds who want to advance into management and executive roles. The MSEM program helps develop technical management skills by combining qualitative approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum, which strengthens engineering credentials and develops managerial competence. Engineering leaders must be well versed in current technical alternatives and possess the managerial skills necessary to oversee enterprises and ensure their profitability. These leaders make key decisions where engineering insight is also an invaluable ingredient for success.

Hospitality Management
The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, in School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (SHTL) at the Sarasota-Manatee campus location, prepares graduates for global leadership positions in the hospitality industry through foundational knowledge of hospitality operations and experiences that develop critical thinkers who promote diversity, ethical responsibility, lifelong learning, and community engagement.

The M.S. in Microbiology is administered by the Department of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Microbiology. The mission of the Department of Cell Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology (CMMB) is to prepare graduate students for various professional careers in academia, government or industry in the areas of Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. We pursue excellence in the following programmatic research areas: genome integrity and mechanisms of aging, bacterial pathogenesis and resistance, structural and computational biology.

Due to the interdisciplinary aspect of most research projects, faculty and graduate students often work together on broad ranging research projects that bring together many of the traditionally separate areas of biology.

The School of Music also invites guest composers, conductors, and performing musicians to enhance its performances and to provide master classes, symposia, and clinics for students and the public. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers a non?thesis option for the degree of Master of Science in Information Technology (M.S.I.T). The MSIT graduate will demonstrate strong information technology skills as well as problem solving skills needed for the deployment of technology solutions to achieve business and organizational goals. The degree is available in an hybrid mode (online and face to face), and provides students with a broad and integrative understanding of both technology and operational and strategic business and organizational applications. There is considerable freedom in the choice of the courses.

The breadth of subjects which are part of information technology together with the immense diversity of its applications, make it imperative that students in the Master’s major maintain close contact with the Graduate Director, in order to achieve a coherent plan of study directed towards a specific goal. In particular, election of courses should only be made with prior consultation and approval of the Major Professor or the Graduate Director.
