Natural Sciences
The Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences degree serves the academic and career goals of undergraduate students who seek a broad education in the Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology). Students select a sequence of upper-level courses based on career goals, choosing three of the five natural science areas. Students interested in secondary education, public health, and other fields may choose this degree.

The M.S. in Finance offers a curriculum that concentrates on both finance and economics concepts. Students who complete the M.S. in Finance will be better prepared to succeed in careers in the financial world, especially in positions that require specialized knowledge about various finance topics.

Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering major offers study in all areas fundamental to the analysis, design, and development of electrical devices and systems. ?The areas covered by the major include foundational topics such as circuits and electrical power, to applications such as Internet of Things, Smart Grid, Security,  and Data Analytics. The major offers curriculum tracks that include: Bioelectrical Systems, Communication Systems, Energy, Power and Sustainability, Mechatronics, Robotics and Embedded Systems, Micro and Nano-scale Systems and Wireless Systems. Well-equipped laboratories reinforce fundamental concepts, while providing real world hands-on exposure.

Hospitality Management
The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, in School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (SHTL) at the Sarasota-Manatee campus location, prepares graduates for global leadership positions in the hospitality industry through foundational knowledge of hospitality operations and experiences that develop critical thinkers who promote diversity, ethical responsibility, lifelong learning, and community engagement.

The major is designed to provide students with advanced training in either Anatomy, Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, or Pharmacology.  Students successfully completing the major will have a foundation that will prepare them for a professional degree in biomedical science such as a M.D. or Ph.D. or qualify them to work as teachers or research assistants in academia or in the private sector.   The major will provide a solid core of training in the latest findings, concepts, and experimental techniques.  Students will be allowed to individualize their training through elective courses and will have the opportunity to conduct laboratory research.  The major is intended for students who wish training beyond a baccalaureate degree but do not wish to commit to a Ph.D. major or do not meet the qualifications required for admissions into a M.D. or Ph.D. major.

Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students contemplating graduate study should pursue a major in the discipline of their interest, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.

The Master of Science in Athletic Training (M.S. in A.T.) major is built around 60 credit hours of required coursework to satisfy the eligibility requirements for the students to sit for the Board of Certification examination.

Engineering Management-M.S.
The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program, established in 1982, is a multidisciplinary graduate degree program for engineers and individuals with technical backgrounds who want to advance into management and executive roles. The MSEM program helps develop technical management skills by combining qualitative approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum, which strengthens engineering credentials and develops managerial competence. Engineering leaders must be well versed in current technical alternatives and possess the managerial skills necessary to oversee enterprises and ensure their profitability. These leaders make key decisions where engineering insight is also an invaluable ingredient for success.

Electrical Engineering-M.S.
The faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department at USF takes great pride in providing a high quality education to our more than 400 graduate students and invites you to consider joining us in advancing the frontiers of knowledge. Our student body is diverse, our research spans experimental and theoretical studies of many fundamental areas of electrical engineering, and we enjoy strong partnerships throughout industry and with prominent national laboratories and federal agencies. The faculty of electrical engineering hails from some of the finest institutions in the country, and includes NSF CAREER Award winners, Fellows of the IEEE and AAAS, Distinguished University Professors, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Many serve in national leadership roles in technical societies such as the IEEE, have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds, and lend their expertise to federal agencies such as The National Science Foundation and The National Institutes of Health. Some are very entrepreneurial and have founded spin-off companies based on their research. This diversity of experience enriches the learning and experiences of our students.

Computer Engineering-M.S.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers both a thesis and non-thesis option for the degree of Master of Science in Computer Engineering (M.S.C.P.). The thesis option requires students to pursue a more concentrated range of topics, while the non-thesis option allows students to explore various areas of computer engineering. There is considerable freedom in the choice of the courses.

The breadth of subjects that comprise computer engineering together with the immense diversity of its applications, make it imperative that students in the Master’s major maintain close contact with the Graduate Director, or, if choosing the thesis option, with their major professor to achieve a coherent plan of study directed towards a specific goal. In particular, selection of courses should only be made with prior consultation and approval of the major professor or the Graduate Director.
