To succeed in economics, you'll need a strong understanding of issues like health care reform and inequality, institutions such as the Federal Reserve and the International Monetary Fund, and debates about government debt, globalization and sustainability.

Our program will help you develop the analytical, research, writing, quantitative and communication skills you'll need to produce significant research papers and confidently present your findings.

Outside the classroom, faculty interact with students in the Economics Liaison, discussing economic news and debates, organizing special lectures, and attending off-campus events. The Economics Liaison also collaborates with the Department in organizing a series of activities aimed at helping students secure internships and transition to careers and graduate school. In addition, students prepare for career success through the Department's Econnect program, featuring events like the annual Economics Student-Alumnae Networking Dinner and alumnae-led workshops on networking, negotiation, interviewing, résumé development and LinkedIn.

Our students combine their passions, incorporating their expertise into fields like finance, community development and government. Study in economics is also excellent preparation for law school and graduate study in economics, public policy, international relations, management, finance, and many other fields.

Students earning their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Simmons develop a keen understanding of government institutions, the processes of decision making, and public policy.

The Arts Administration Program integrates art history, studio art and music with Simmons’ pre-professional programs in business, communications and information science to prepare students for leadership in today’s changing creative economy. Internships and other practical experiences in the field are made possible through an array of institutional partnerships in Boston and beyond. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neuroscience and Behavior degree blends social, natural, mathematical, and life sciences to address the intriguing issues related to behavior and experience.

Have you ever wondered what makes people act the way they do? The interdisciplinary field of Neuroscience and Behavior explores the nervous systems of the body and how they influence the expression of human behavior. It is a complex and ever-evolving study comprised of extensive research of the mind, combining aspects of psychology and biology to dig deeper into the biological bases of behavior, conscious experience, and the relationship between physical and mental health.

Why study Neuroscience and Behavior?
Through the Bachelor’s in Neuroscience and Behavior degree, students closely examine cognition, behavior, and emotion in order to better understand the layers and intricacies of the mind and nervous systems.
