The Master of Science in Architecture, Computational Technologies (M.S.ACT) program is a two-semester (plus summer term), 30-credit, post-professional master's degree. The program integrates critical relationships between science and culture, developing new technologies with a focus on the history and theory of representation, robotics, and cybernetics. You'll learn how to apply, research, and develop advancements in computational design, robotic interaction and fabrication, and new materials.

The M.S.ACT program builds up expertise in three terms (Fall, Spring, Summer), organized as core studios and seminars in three focus areas (Computational Design, Fabrication and Robotics, and Materials) and culminating with an interdisciplinary integrated Project-based Learning Studio in the summer term.

• In our Chemistry, B.S. program, you’ll participate in a hands-on curriculum utilizing technology and modern approaches to solve chemical problems.

• You’ll work in our advanced visualization facility using the latest industry-standard software and hardware, including 3-D printing/rapid prototyping, laser cutters, and immersive environments such as Oculus Rift. • Help companies around the world keep important data safe, limit risks, and recover from attacks with the Cybersecurity, M.S. This program is ideally suited for those with engineering or computer science undergraduate degrees.
• You’ll design, implement, and maintain software tools to support network security across multiple operating systems, overseeing the information lifecycle of an organization from planning and acquisition to implementation. You’ll also study algorithm concepts, computer forensics, risk management and legal issues, and intrusion detection and hacker exploits.

What You’ll Learn
The Data Science, M.S. is designed for students with a computer science or related background interested in pursuing data analytics, machine learning, visualization, and more. You'll learn how to employ data science concepts and methods to solve problems in business and scientific contexts and communicate these solutions effectively. You'll study computing theory, languages, and algorithms, and use mathematical and statistical models to formulate and implement data analyses and learn to apply them ethically.

Our practical curriculum incorporates case studies in advanced topics of computer architecture from classic and modern processors, including large-scale systems. You may also participate in sponsored research projects alongside faculty members from funding sources such as the Department of Defense.

What You’ll Learn

• Help people from a range of backgrounds and experiences live better lives through counseling, advocacy, and mediation with the Behavioral Sciences-Sociology / Social Work, B.S. You’ll study different social systems—family units, gangs, religious cults, medical systems, and more—and how they’re impacted by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and social class.
• You’ll gain critical experience with field placement opportunities, as well as work side by side with full-time faculty on original research, presenting at regional and national conferences, as well as New York Tech’s Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE).

In the Information Technology, B.S., you’ll learn to design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems and programs to solve an organization’s challenges. Focused on culturally competent school counseling and social justice, the School Counseling, M.S. helps you become a compassionate, effective advocate for the academic, social, and emotional success of pre-K–12 students.

You’ll gain a broad foundation on prevalent topics in school counseling today, including leadership, group counseling, working with special needs students, college counseling, and school violence prevention. You’ll also acquire the critical experience you need through a practicum and internships under the mentorship of a tenured school counselor in a pre-K–12 school setting.

We also offer a Bilingual Extension, which can be completed simultaneously with your school counseling degree. The extension includes a minimum of six additional credits, as well as bilingual practicum experience to prepare you to work specifically with bilingual/ELL students and their families. NYSED certification will require documented proficiency in the target language by independently passing the New York State Bilingual Assessment (BEA).

The program has two options:

• A two-year professional degree track for those with a pre-professional degree in architecture
• A three-year professional degree track for those with a bachelor’s degree in another area

Both options offer opportunities for travel abroad studios, workshops, and summer and semester programs at New York Tech’s international university partners in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
