The Department of Accounting & Computer Information Systems offers baccalaureate and masters degree programs. Baccalaureate programs are offered in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Minors are offered in Accounting, Computing, Fraud Examination, and Internal Auditing. Computer Information Systems
The major in Computer Information Systems involves the study and analysis of the design of an information gathering and processing system using computers. The typical graduate finds employment in business, industry, or Government, as a programmer, programmer/analysts, information technology support specialists or various other positions related to operating and managing a modern information technology installation. Some choose to continue their study as a graduate student. With experience or further study, a graduate may advance to positions such as systems analyst, software engineer, project manager, database administrator, or manager of information systems.

Multimedia Journalism - Emphasis
Multimedia journalism prepares students for careers in the news industry. Students take classes in news reporting, broadcast journalism, photojournalism, online journalism, and media law and get practical experience through on-campus media outlets. Students in this area learn to collect information through interviewing sources, interpreting and organizing information, and presenting it to the public. MMJ students also learn about the rights and responsibilities of journalists in a free and open society. They find careers in digital media, radio, television, cable, print, and online news, as well as PR and other media-related fields.

The Department of Music offers courses leading to the degree of Master of Music with emphases in the following areas:

The Master of Music is designed to provide advanced training to prepare students for enhanced career opportunities as well as for further study at the doctoral level. The Department of Psychology and Counseling has placed its graduates in schools, businesses, agencies and hospitals throughout the region, as well as provided teachers for two and four year colleges. The department enjoys a strong relationship with area mental health agencies, with many private and governmental establishments acting as training sites for students, and using department faculty and advanced graduate students as consultants. PSU is the only school within a 100 mile radius that provides graduate training in counseling, psychology and school psychology. Additionally, no other university in Kansas has an integrated psychology and counseling department, allowing the department to offer comprehensive, in-depth programs in each area and providing students with the opportunity to experience the best in both disciplines.

Psychology and the Military - Emphasis
As a part of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, the Psychology and Military concentration area provides an educational foundation for those interested in a career in the helping field in general, but is specifically designed for those interested in working with active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. Graduates will stand ready to gain civilian employment for Department of Defense programs (GS 5 and higher) across the nation that provide human and social services, instructional and educational services as well as services related to human resources for both Military Service members and Military Civilian Corps. This emphasis also provides an educational foundation for those who intend to pursue a graduate degree.

The Master of Arts Degree in English with an Emphasis in Professional Writing began in the fall of 2017. The program features classes in writing for the public, such as grant writing; writing for electronic environments, such as digital literacies and news media writing; writing for publication, such as editing and document design; and theories of writing. This degree will help you develop the flexibility necessary for a wide variety of writing occupations.

Theatre  - Emphasis
Theatre prepares the individual for work in the arts and entertainment industry across a broad spectrum of areas such as performance, technical production, design, and/or management. Individuals graduating in this emphasis area also work in many tangential industries such as hotel/restaurant management, event planning, and facilities management. At PSU, the theatre program, stresses a liberal arts approach that trains each student across the entire discipline in state-of-the-art production facilities. Participation, collaboration, and service are integral components of the program.
