The B.S. in biological science prepares a student for a variety of careers or for graduate work in many fields, including organismal biology, medicine, education, cell or molecular biology, ecology and conservation biology. This is the degree of choice for those aspiring to be professional scientists.

The M.A. in mathematics is designed (1) to prepare students for the teaching of mathematics, particularly in high schools and community colleges, (2) to prepare students for nonteaching professions or vocations, such as civil service, actuarial work, or statistical work, in which mathematics plays a principal part, or (3) for students who wish to supplement study in other fields with suitable courses in mathematics.

The objective of the M.Accy. is to provide students with greater breadth and depth in accounting education. The purpose of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and background necessary for entry into the profession and to enable them to continue to grow and develop within the profession.

The Bachelor of Music curriculum prepares students to become professional musicians or vocalists, to teach music at the K-12 levels, or for graduate or professional school. Students select a concentration in instrumental, keyboard, or vocal training.

The B.M. in music is offered for students seeking a university education that includes preparation for careers in music teaching or performance. The B.M. degree is available in the following emphases: music performance and music education.

The B.M. in music with emphasis in music education prepares students for certification in the following fields: instrumental (band or orchestra; students may choose any woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instrument as the principal instrument); vocal/choral music; keyboard. Separate course requirements are given as three concentrations: instrumental, vocal, or keyboard as principal instrument.

The M.S. in sport and recreation administration provides advanced education and vocational opportunities to develop leisure service delivery skills and evaluation or research competencies for students committed to careers in leisure, sport, recreation, health, tourism, and/or research.

Real Estate students at the University of Mississippi develop an in-depth understanding of appraisal and real estate development, including buying, selling, and managing residential and commercial properties and land.

Buy or lease? Invest or sell? Develop an in-depth understanding of appraisals and real estate development, including buying, selling, and managing residential and commercial properties in the Ole Miss real estate program. You’ll be the link between properties and investors.

What will you learn?
You’ll receive instruction in principles, finance, appraisal, law, land use controls, and investment analysis. You’ll learn about brokerage, lending, corporate positions, and government agencies. On graduation, you will be prepared for examinations for state real estate broker and salesperson licenses.

The Department of Modern Languages offers the M.A. in modern languages with emphases in French, German, linguistics, Spanish, and teaching English as a second language (TESOL).

The B.A. in psychology prepares students for careers in which a fuller understanding of human behavior is needed or to enter graduate programs in psychology and professional schools such as law and medicine. Students learn the scientific approach to the study of human and animal behavior, and can take courses in a variety of subfields, such as social, cognitive, personality, abnormal, developmental, and behavioral neuroscience. Students also learn the research process: experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Seek to understand what motivates people and why people behave the way they do.
