Spanish is a useful asset to any field of study.  Many students choose to pick up a Spanish minor or secondary major to support their first major. Because Spanish is such a widely-spoken language, occupations utilizing Spanish are not hard to find. Many students have gone on to complete graduate studies, teach or work in international affairs.

Exercise physiology is an applied science studying the body’s metabolic responses to acute and chronic physical activity. The program offers students a professional field experience and general division electives in the areas of strength and conditioning, nutrition, pre-PT, pre-Medical, business, and clinicals. Exercise Physiology prepares students for a number of career opportunities related to the wellness consciousness of the general population. Available courses include:

• Exercise and Sports Nutrition
• Sports Psychology
• Sociology of Sport
• Biomechanics

Students must complete one semester of a supervised internship. Students are assigned to a variety of positions including sports practices, games and surgeries. Positions also include general medical rotation and an off-campus rotation at a high school or sports medicine clinic. These assignments give the students an opportunity apply learned techniques in the field.

Education - Spanish All Level
The All-Level Spanish Education program prepares students to teach Spanish in grades K through 12. Graduates of the All-Level Spanish Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in Spanish Education. Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language. Students of All-Level Spanish Education do not have to be fluent in Spanish prior to starting the major.
