Church Music
The Church Music program at Baylor University is designed for students desiring to take their passion for music and utilize it in a church setting. The Church Music major is available in the Bachelor of Music (BM) degree or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition before members of the appropriate applied music faculty for acceptance into a music degree program. Students may pursue either a BM or BA in Church Music.
The Church Music major in the Bachelor of Music (BM) program at Baylor allows students to concentrate on one of three different emphases depending on their primary instrument: keyboard, instrumental or voice. The Bachelor of Arts program is designed in the liberal arts tradition and is a good fit for students who want a church music degree and who want to take additional courses outside of their major course of study.

Astronomy
Astronomy is the study of the universe and all the bodies within it. It examines origins of the universe, stars and planets as well as how they move and evolve in space. Since scientists are rarely able to physically examine many objects in space, astronomy is mostly an observational science. Math, physics, chemistry and geology contribute to astronomy and help inform our understanding of the universe. Astronomy also relies on a variety of instruments, tools, and computer software for analysis and gathering data. Available courses include:

Baylor's Aviation Sciences program propels you into an aviation career, whether in the skies or on the ground. The degree provides a balance of aeronautical theory and application combined with technical education. Available courses include:

• Private Pilot Flight
• Advanced Aviation Meteorology
• Aircraft Systems
• Aviation Law
• Aerodynamics

The Aviation Sciences major (Professional Pilot Concentration) is specifically designed for students wanting a career as a pilot (Airplane or Helicopter). Be aware that there are a limited number of flight slots for pilot students and so admission to the Professional Pilot Concentration is limited and competitive.

As a discipline, anthropology studies human diversity across time and space, attempting to understand the human past, present, and future using tools and techniques from various sub-fields like biological anthropology, archaeology, and sociocultural anthropology. It utilizes a comparative approach between people/populations and among different species to understand the forces that have shaped their ways of life.

We aim to educate students to address real-world problems through a combination of classroom learning, seminars and hands-on field and laboratory research opportunities. This can include, for example, examining fossil casts or modern human bones, studying at the zoo or in villages in developing countries, and digging for artifacts in the fields or just facts in the library.Our faculty pursues research in disease diagnostics and other biomarkers, Global and One Health, ecological anthropology, forensic anthropology, fossil excavation, modern Mayan cultures, DNA analyses, GIS, and both historic and prehistoric archaeology. Research sites include Central and Latin America, the Caribbean, West, East, and South Africa, near Eastern Mediterranean, and Texas. All of these projects offer excellent opportunities for students to participate in primary research working alongside their professors.

Geology
Geology is the science that deals with the Earth's physical structure and substance, its history and the processes that act on it. The Geology major focuses on a wide variety of topics that include materials of the Earth (minerals and rocks) and processes that affect them, as well as the evolution of life and its relationship to Earth materials and processes. These processes can include the formation of rocks, mountains and volcanoes, wind and water.Geologists utilize chemistry, biology and physics to investigate environmental issues, hydrocarbon accumulations, natural hazards, water quality and availability, ores and valuable minerals and natural disasters. Available courses include:

Communication
The Communication major is a broad study of the process of human communication. Students will learn the importance of communication context in culture, professional fields and social movements. Coursework also includes study of the influence of communication on behavior and in turn, its influence on society. There are four tracks that students may choose from in the Communication major:

• Rhetoric and Public Discourse
• Generalist
• Honors

Students major in communication as preparation for careers in business, law, education and ministry, among others. Unique opportunities for Communication students include Lambda Pi Eta, the communication studies honor society as well as study abroad options including Baylor in London and Baylor in New York.

Apparel Merchandising
The Apparel Merchandising program focuses on developing professional skills, such as communication, analytical thinking, teamwork and ethical behavior. These skills help sustain graduates as they apply management and marketing theory and business principles to the global fashion industry. Courses include:

English
English majors focus on analyzing and interpreting a variety of literature like novels, short stories, essays, poetry and other works of creative writing. The coursework includes a variety of studies including history, politics, arts and culture.

The Music Education Certification program is a joint program of the School of Music and the School of Education. A music student who meets requirements for a teacher's certificate must also meet the requirements for a Bachelor of Music Education degree.

The competitive program includes field experiences and on-campus instruction in music and pedagogy. Graduates of the music education program find successful careers in schools throughout the nation.  

Students can choose three tracks of Music Education:

• Vocal/Keyboard (Choral)
• String (Instrumental)
• Wind/Percussion (Instrumental)

Student teaching is a component of the Bachelor of Music Education degree and students graduating from the Choral Music program have found teaching careers in public and private schools in Texas and throughout the country.

The Environmental Science major combines laboratory and field work, internships and classroom study. This program is for students interested in a variety of fields including water resources and air quality, wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, and environmental toxicology and chemistry.
