The International Year program is designed especially for international students. Environmental Science
The Environmental Science major combines laboratory and field work, internships and classroom study. This program is for students interested in a variety of fields including water resources and air quality, wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, and environmental toxicology and chemistry. The coursework includes basic and applied science. Available courses include:

Computer Science
The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. One of the strengths of the computer science program is the balance between theory and practice. Within the BSCS degree, students select a general computer science or software engineering track. The software engineering track emphasizes the methods used to produce and maintain high-quality software in a systematic, controlled and efficient manner. Students who are acquiring their BA in computer science acquire a traditional liberal arts education with a solid set of core computer science courses.

Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management major (designated as a pre-major) is a comprehensive study of the way people work in a business. The study includes the hiring process, employee training, conflict resolution and career planning. The program's goal is to train students to be competent human resource specialists who work strategically with organizations to recruit the right talent, motivate them with compensation and make them even more valuable through training and development. The curriculum fully aligns with the standards set by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Available courses include:

The Finance major is the study of the decision-making process involved in managing and acquiring assets to create a profit. It is a pre-major.  The major offers two focuses, Corporate Finance and Investments. Corporate Finance is the study of research and acquisition of assets for companies. The study of Investments includes the valuing of financial securities and corporate and personal portfolio management. Available courses include:

The Neuroscience major (designated as a pre-major) is the study of the nervous system with a special emphasis on the brain. Neuroscience spans many academic fields, including biology, psychology and chemistry.  Courses develop a thorough understanding of the nervous system, from molecules and genes to behavior and motor skills, and related disorders.  Available courses include:

• Sensation and Perception
• Literature of Behavioral Neuroscience
• Neuropharmacology

The Elementary Education program is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference through teaching young children and want to become change agents in education. The program prepares highly qualified teachers for work in diverse school settings in Early Childhood through Grade Six. Graduates of the Elementary program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) and prepare for the Elementary Generalist certification. Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language or Gifted and Talented Education or Special Education.

The School of Education offers a unique experience for Teacher Education majors. Unlike other programs, Baylor's School of Education offers seven semesters of hands-on experience in the classroom. The program builds upon the classroom knowledge and the students are given increasing responsibility each semester. By the students' senior year, they are teaching full time during the fall and spring semesters. Several schools in Waco partner with the Baylor School of Education to provide field experience for Teacher Education majors.
