Classics
The Classics major is a comprehensive study of ancient Greece and Rome. Consequently, students will have the opportunity to study culture, history and language of Latin and Greek. Students also read ancient writings in their original text. The degree program encourages educational diversity and offers a wide range of electives such as art, history, philosophy and religion. • Principles of Classical Studies
• Readings from Greek Literature

Professional Writing and Rhetoric

Through faculty mentoring, writing internships, and writing-intensive courses, our major produces writers who are versatile communicators, creative professionals, and innovative problem-solvers.

Environmental Science
The Environmental Science major combines laboratory and field work, internships and classroom study. This program is for students interested in a variety of fields including water resources and air quality, wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, and environmental toxicology and chemistry. Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology prepares students for a number of career opportunities related to the wellness consciousness of the general population. Available courses include:

• Biomechanics

Students must complete one semester of a supervised internship. Students are assigned to a variety of positions including sports practices, games and surgeries. Positions also include general medical rotation and an off-campus rotation at a high school or sports medicine clinic. These assignments give the students an opportunity apply learned techniques in the field.

Education - Secondary English, Language Arts, and Reading
The Secondary Education program prepares students to work in grades 7-12. Graduates of the Secondary Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in one subject area (listed below). Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

The Great Texts major is one of two undergraduate majors within the Baylor University Honors College, but it is not required that you be part of Honors to major in Great Texts. The coursework includes the study of influential written works from a variety of cultures throughout the ages. Available courses include:

• Medieval Intellectual Tradition
• Confessions and Autobiography
• Theological Interpretation of Scripture
• Great Texts of the 20th Century
• Masterworks in Drama

The Great Texts program offers an integrated humanities education that crosses the customary academic divisions between what we know, what we love and how we live together. These studies are intensely practical because questions in real life often concern the connections between knowledge, ethical discernment and imaginative enjoyment.  Many graduates pursue graduate, law and medical school. Graduates can also expect to find career opportunities in international business or at academic institutions.
