The International Year is a 1-semester program, equivalent to a year's study of a bachelor's degree. Psychology
Psychology students at TAMUCC receive an excellent and intellectually exciting education in psychology as a science. Our faculty members represent many of the varied fields of contemporary psychology, including developmental psychology, social psychology, experimental psychology, personality psychology, and clinical psychology.

Our undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program is designed to provide the psychology major with a broadly-based education in the discipline. For those who are interested, opportunities exist within the department to conduct research under the supervision of our faculty.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will use critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and the scientific approach to solve problems related to behavior and mental processes. You will understand and apply research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation. With this degree you will demonstrate understanding of the concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.

The main focus of the program is to develop the student’s language proficiency and the literary, cultural, practical application, and translation competencies demanded by many professional fields. To accomplish these goals, the Spanish curriculum includes courses in general Spanish Language, Spanish for the Professions, Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish and Spanish-American Literatures and Civilizations, and Translation.

These courses are provided for students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with or without Secondary Teacher Certification, or Spanish/English Translation Certificate; for those fulfilling Second Language requirements or the Language, Philosophy, and Culture requirement in the Core Curriculum Program, and for those seeking electives to support majors and minors in other fields.

This is a dynamic department—with students studying human relationships, analyzing film and television, creating films, practicing public relations, writing for the student newspaper, and instructing others in communication.

Our students pursue degrees in communication studies or media arts with emphases in media studies or media production. We also have minors in communication studies, public relations, and digital journalism, as well as a teaching certificate in communication. Additionally, we have a Master of Arts in Communication.

Our professors and instructors include published authors, filmmakers, sought-after speakers, respected leaders, and award-winning educators. They love to teach and are constantly looking for ways to make the learning environment the best possible for our students.

The mission of the Department of Communication & Media is to develop students who are effective and ethical communicators with the creative, critical, and collaborative skills necessary to succeed in a diverse global environment.

The focus of the program is to enhance students' knowledge and practical skills in various areas of human communication including organizational leadership, public relations, and relational communication.

Biology
Hone your critical thinking skills and round out your education with unique research opportunities when you pursue a bachelor of science degree in biology. As part of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s School of Science and Engineering, you’ll benefit from small classes led by award-winning faculty and hands-on research. Our undergraduate biology degree has six tracks, fitting a wide variety of student interests and career goals.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of biology. You’ll also understand the scientific method and use it to develop and conduct biological experiments. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills so you can successfully speak to a range of audiences about biological information.

The Department of Art + Design offers 4 undergraduate degrees. Each degree is unique and requires different hours, credits and electives.

• Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art
• Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design
• Bachelor of Fine Arts
• Bachelor of Fine Arts with Teaching Certification
• The College of Liberal Arts also requires at least 6 semester hours of a second language for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Art.

The Bachelor of Arts degree with major study in art is a general program in art. The degree requires a minimum of 51 semester hours of art coursework. Course selections include two- and three-dimensional art, art history, design, and art electives. Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of art. You’ll also gain knowledge in a variety of art media, studio techniques and art history. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your working knowledge of visual problem solving and critical thinking.

As part of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the Masters of Public Administration Program at TAMU-CC encourages you to go public with your career.

Public Administration focuses on the application of Public Administration theory and concepts in real world situations. The program focuses on the management of critical issues in our three tracks:

• Public Management
• Public Safety
• Healthcare Administration
• Non-profit Management

The MPA has been designed to meet the needs of full-time employees wishing to earn their degree through part-time study. Students in the program will take a core of seven courses in order to increase their understanding of administrative theory, policy making, data analysis, public budgeting and finance, and human resource management.

The management major is designed to provide entry-level knowledge, skills, and concepts for general management, human resource management, health care positions, and entrepreneurship.

The management curriculum provides a basic understanding of the nature of organizations, effective acquisition and utilization of human and physical resources, and the skills required to carry out the managerial functions of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of management. You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of key management theories and concepts, and will apply these Management theories and concepts correctly.

The mission of the Mathematics Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is to increase the knowledge and use of mathematics by persons both at the University and in the surrounding area. We strive to educate students at the university so that they are prepared to use mathematics intelligently in their chosen fields of study and to understand mathematics as it affects their lives and participation in public affairs.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of mathematics. You’ll be able to recognize mathematics outside the realm of the classroom, and apply undergraduate-level mathematical content as a matter of professional practice.

The main focus of the program is to develop the student’s language proficiency and the literary, cultural, practical application, and translation competencies demanded by many professional fields. Within this program, you will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish through performance on examinations, in-class presentations, and research papers. You will also demonstrate the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret the cultural, linguistic and literary aspects of the Spanish-speaking countries through in-class presentations, examinations, and research papers. With this degree, you will be prepared to teach Spanish and/or continue their studies at the graduate level.
