Additionally, the Internet and social media play active roles in the way people around the globe receive their news and entertainment. As a TROY broadcast journalism student, you will learn to skillfully navigate these outlets to help deliver news to a rapidly changing audience.

Through your training within TROY’s award-winning Hall School of Journalism and Communication, you will master the art of news reporting, including the interview process and writing for mass media. Within the framework of your degree, you will become a practiced communicator as you combine core broadcast skills with hands-on TV studio and production techniques and experiences. The Biology/Biomedical Sciences program prepares students for careers in the health professions and biotechnology. It is an integral part of the pre-professional program. Students who receive a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biomedical Sciences are well prepared to enter graduate or professional school, begin careers as laboratory technicians or seek employment in the biotechnology industry. 

Students complete a wide variety of courses aimed at providing a thorough understanding of the development, structure, and organization of the cell and are exposed to a wide variety of modern approaches to analyze genetic, molecular, and cellular events.

Specialized courses in Microbial Ecology Applied Genetics, Biochemistry, and Immunology complement the offerings in Biomedical Sciences. Students in this program will:

• Demonstrate a sound foundational knowledge and understanding of the principles of biology, chemistry and nutrition and an advanced understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Demonstrate basic laboratory skills pertaining to assessments, laboratory methods, sound experimental and analytical practices, data acquisition and reporting in the exercise sciences with emphasis on physiology and biomechanics.
• Participate in the research process including literature reviews, data collection and data analysis related to the importance and influence of physical activity, nutrition and exercise on health.
• Understand and apply the principles of exercise testing and prescription to diverse populations at various developmental stages and under a range of health conditions.
• Demonstrate requisite skills and abilities for meaningful employment in exercise science-related areas or pursue graduate studies in an exercise science-related area.

A bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology provides the academic and field experience to prepare students for such rewarding careers in marine science as conducting research at universities and marine laboratories and working for industry or state and federal environmental agencies. The program of study includes two summers at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab taking courses such as Vertebrate Zoology, Oceanography, Marine Ecology and Marine Botany, among other choices. During the freshman and sophomore years, students complete their foundation courses, which prepare them for advanced study. Students complete their upper-level biology and physics classes during their junior and senior years at the Troy Campus.

The Troy University School of Accountancy is committed to providing students the accounting education required to enter the accounting profession and to pursue a successful professional career. The Troy University School of Accountancy offers an undergraduate accounting curriculum that provides the foundation for entering the accounting profession in the public, private, or governmental area. An undergraduate degree in accounting will also give you a strong foundation in business-related topics such as marketing, finance, and management. Earning your degree in Accounting gives you flexibility in choosing employment or furthering your education. If you choose immediate employment, you will have the skills to obtain an entry-level position in a public, private, or governmental entity. If you choose to further your education, you will have the coursework necessary to enter graduate programs in accounting such as the Master of Accountancy. As a TROY student, you will have an opportunity to seek a paid internship at one of the many local, regional and national firms or private company businesses and governmental agencies that recruit students from Troy University. The internships generally begin in January and last approximately three months. Importantly, the internship program is part of the accounting curriculum, so participation in the internship program does not delay graduation.
