Politics and Policy Studies

A Politics and Policy Studies major will enhance your understanding of the big issues in the world today, and assist you to develop the skills to make a difference in your lifetime. We investigate the challenge posed to Australia and the world by climate change; asylum seekers and refugees; development; inequality; political parties and new social movements. We examine the ideas behind the policy and the rhetoric. We look globally for different solutions; investigate how policy lessons are learned; and assess the impact on domestic and global politics. We examine how and why some people are able to exercise power better than others, and assess ideas and opportunities for addressing the pressing social, economic, and environmental issues of our time.

The Master of Cyber Security (Professional) extends the specialized cyber security skills obtained in the Master of Cyber Security by providing you with opportunities to gain practical experience. You can choose to undertake a period of industry-based learning or a research project under the supervision of our internationally recognized research staff.

Psychological science

This sequence prepares students for postgraduate training towards becoming a practicing registered psychologist. To practice as a psychologist students must complete an undergraduate degree with a major sequence in psychology followed by a fourth year of study in psychology (an Honours in Psychology or a Graduate Diploma of Psychology) that are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
