In this degree, you will learn to strategically apply new technologies and modes of manufacturing to help streamline operations and innovate.

Within the manufacturing industry, factory systems are evolving to meet customers’ changing expectations and keep pace with global competition. These changes impact everything and everyone, from the factory floor to the boardroom, and there’s a growing need for experts with knowledge of the latest technological and operational strategies.

The Master of Engineering (Manufacturing) explores sustainable engineering, Industry 4.0 technologies and biomedical manufacturing, and more.

Studying in the heart of Melbourne, you will build essential skills in project management, conduct research, and have the option to hone your engineering knowledge in a range of specialised elective subjects.

Osteopaths are trained in diagnosis, management, and treatment of musculoskeletal pain disorders. They combine conventional medical testing procedures and skills of palpation and motion testing to inform their clinical rationale for treating a patient's condition.

You will be trained in musculoskeletal diagnosis, clinical procedures in performing conventional medical tests, physical examination techniques, and motion testing in order to assist in diagnosis of a patient’s condition.

Osteopaths make treatment decisions that depend on the patient as well as their condition. They might give advice on posture, exercise, lifting procedures, nutrition and other areas.

You will begin work-integrated learning in first year, with clinical observations in the RMIT Health Clinic.

In the final two years, you will conduct safe, skilled evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints under the supervision of qualified and nationally registered osteopaths, over a period of 38 weeks per year.

There is also an opportunity to complete a work placement in an Australian osteopathic clinic.

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences conducts research in the area of ageing and chronic disease. Experienced researchers will supervise your work in the areas of:

• Cognitive and sensory disorders
• Diabetes, fatty liver disease and obesity: nutritional factors and drug discovery
• Early-life determinants of chronic metabolic disorders
• Musculoskeletal function and pain
• Respiratory and sleep disorders.

The research methodologies available to students include:

• Use of laboratory disease models and evaluations
• Biochemical assays, molecular biology techniques and signalling pathway investigations
• Discovery of clinical biomarkers and new therapies for chronic disease.

You will undertake clinical or experimental research in one of these fields with an individual supervisor overseeing your development and progress.

Research is undertaken in a strongly multi-disciplinary environment that brings clinical and basic researchers together to undertake novel research at the boundaries between disciplines.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, you will learn about the human body and the use of drugs to treat disease.

Throughout your pharmaceutical studies, you will develop knowledge about the human body, the action of drugs in them, and ways in which the pharmaceutical industry can deliver more reliable, accessible and effective treatments.

In addition to an understanding of pharmacology and physiology, this biomedical science degree will teach you about the development of new drugs, the clinical use of medications, and the legal and regulatory aspects of developing medicines.

You will gain an understanding of biochemistry, cell biology, and physiology, and an in-depth knowledge of pharmacology, clinical trials, drug development, and therapeutics, to prepare you for a multidisciplinary career in the pharmaceutical industry

RMIT's Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition will provide you with a foundational knowledge of the science of manufacturing food and making it safe and nutritious.

You will learn how to develop novel, healthy and functional food products that meet consumer demands and comply with strict safety and health guidelines.

Major in food technology or nutrition (or both). The nutrition major focuses on human health and nutrition subjects, while the food technology major deals with traditional and novel technologies employed in the manufacture of food products, as well as sensory evaluation of foods, product development and quality assurance.

Study in world-class laboratories and facilities. A significant amount of time will be spent in the laboratory and at RMIT's multi-million dollar Food Innovation and Research Centre, undertaking production trials and development projects.

Get job ready for a career in the food industry. This degree culminates in capstone experiences which include work integrated learning activities, where you’ll apply your learning in a workplace (real or simulated) context.

Further your skills in medical science delve into the world of laboratory medicine.

Pursue a career in the fascinating field of diagnostity pathology or medical research with the Master of Laboratory Medicine.

As a student in this degree, you will build the necessary knowledge to perform and oversee a range of diagnostic procedures in a clinical pathology laboratory. You'll also hone your skills in problem solving and critical thinking.

During this degree, you will choose two areas of specialisation. These advanced clinical pathology discipline streams include:

• Anatomical pathology
• Clinical biochemistry
• Haematology
• Medical microbiology
• Transfusion and transplantation science.

Upon graduation, you'll have built high-level skills in analysis and knowledge integration relevant to your area of specialisation.

The Master of Laboratory Medicine is designed for graduates of general science or biomedical science degrees who are interested in a career in diagnostic pathology or medical research but who lack experience in the diagnostic laboratory disciplines.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn how to protect, restore and create engineered and natural systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

As part of this systems engineering degree you’ll undertake a broad range of studies, graduating with the skills to design engineering solutions that meet the needs of society within economic and ecological constraints.

Your studies will focus on developing a sustainable systems approach, combining the fundamentals of sustainable systems design, engineering design, engineering mathematics and engineering science. Degree specialisations exist in renewable energy systems, energy efficiency and demand management, transport and logistics, and supply chain analytics.

Biomedical science courses allow you to understand how the human body functions, and the responses of the body to various diseases, exercise, diet, internal disturbances, and environmental influences.

You’ll learn how techniques in molecular biology and genetics are applied to diagnosing genes that cause cancer, making crops and livestock less vulnerable to disease, and making food safer.

You’ll complete studies in cell biology, physiology, microbiology and molecular biology. You can also choose to study anatomy, neuroscience, cardiovascular biology, industrial microbiology, proteomics, pharmaceutical sciences and applied biochemistry.

The Asian region is a key growth area for the aviation market, with double-digit growth rates in air traffic across China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Massive passenger growth means many more aircraft, larger and more airports, and larger and new airlines. This points to a need for more aerospace engineers, and more aviation-related employees.

During your study in the Master of Engineering (Aerospace), you'll learn how to analyse complex engineering assets in the aerospace and aviation environment; and you will develop engineering, scientific and technological solutions to ensure problem-free operations. Your skills will be further sharpened with systematic problem-solving and adherence to engineering/technological systems design methodologies operating in the industry.
